The only way I learned about the Reverse Recall was here on the forums. So thanks for that guys!
The local dealer here in San Antonio “heard” about the recall and about disabling the module. However they knew nothing about a replacement part(s).
I’m a retired Coast Guard CWO4 - logistics was a big part of my job then I got hired as a Logistics Analyst. One of the tasks that we did was to evaluate parts of the system and develop a Logistic’s Support Plan which include what level the repair should be done (user, shop return, back to the factory) and along with where the fix is done, what parts (including modules, circuit cards, etc.). It seems like BMW didn’t fully develop a support plan for the reverse gear module. The cost is exponentially higher when you don’t have a support plan in hand.
