I'd call the BMW US headquarters. they can definitely make it happen for you.
If you have a number, I'll call. I called BMW Motorrad USA and they told me the same thing. Nothing but took the last 7 digits of my VIN and said if anything comes available they would contact me.

The cold is settling in here in the mid-west USA, so I won’t rush into a shop anytime soon. Hopefully there’s something permanent by the time the weather starts to break in spring.
Update from BMW at the Australian motoGP at Phillip Island. BMW are confidently hopeful of a fix by the end of this year.

This is a screenshot from the BMW Motorrad website. I wouldn't accept a non answer. Obviously some people are getting free service. I'd demand an answer as to why that is.

I took the Model B in for the Reverse Recall; this time they removed the (+) positive and the (-) Ground cables... Which totally sucked, because the Ground point is on the Transmission Case, which is extremely hard to reach if you wanted or needed to restore the Reverse functionality...

Taking my R18B in for service Saturday and service manager informed me that they will disconnect the reverse feature. I will be calling BMW Monday ..!!! Manager informed me that he had to get a number off the back of the light to order the parts for the headlight fix?? What? Does that sound right ? I use the reverse every time i back the bike out of the carport so i am definitely bummed... And already have the extended warranty and spent a lot of money on extras for this bike... It really is making me regret I bought this bike and watching the prices plummet is not helping. I also asked the service manager about installing some Heli Bars on the bike. He said he didnt know about that as they had never done that on a R18 with a fairing. Oh yeah, that was also heard by my buddy that rode to the dealership with me to look at a Roctane that they had on the showroom floor. After he heard what the service manager had to say he is no longer interested in the Roctane. Cant blame him...

Very dissatisfied with the whole situation .

This is probably a stupid question, but are we able to order Wunderlich parts as part of the $1000 recall compensation?
If you were told you will receive a compensation (I have not even received any letter yet) I much doubt the dealership can order parts from Wunderlich. They are not affiliated, Wunderlich is just an aftermarket company filling some gaps or re designing parts to make a profit. They analyse the current OEMs parts and re design some, optimise others etc.

I see. I didn't know if they were affiliated or not in some way. Thanks for clarifying.

I wonder what the dealership's response would have been if you just said "No" to the disabling of the Reverse functionality...?

I'm guessing they can't do it, if you don't approve the work; or perhaps, just cancel your service appointment and get back on your bike and ride away...?

When I spoke to the parts manager a couple of weeks ago, he said one could refuse to have the work done, however, if something were to happen to the bike in the meantime or even after and found to be related to the recall, BMW wouldn’t be liable for anything as one chose not to take on the recommendation. Maybe even in some countries the law says the owner has to comply with the recall in order to have a vehicle fit for road use.

Yes sir, that is the number I called and spoke to two different department representatives.
Don't take "no" for an answer. I'd make them explain why some people are getting it and others aren't. I haven't had to deal with this, because when this all started, BMW mandated all bikes not be sold until a determination was made. That is when I was initially shopping for a bike and they couldn't sell me one. Since then, I've waited to see how this works out before buying.

To be honest I have not even received my letter and the dealer I spoke to was oblivious to any compensation in the UK. The DVLA website has no information about any recall for the R18. I did however got a recall letter today for my F13 as the driver airbag may deploy too violently and she is booked for next Wednesday. 🙄

I have had a text ref the recall, so I phoned Bahnstormers in Faringdon who I got
the bike from. They were aware of the recall & of the compensation, which is based
on a percentage of the price you paid for the bike. The service manager wasn't sure
of the exact amount without checking the recall instructions he had received from
BMW.
My bike is booked in for a service at the beginning of November so I will find out
more then.

Same... I pulled the trigger on purchases 30 seconds after signing the recall paperwork
Yeah I need to find something else, I got the RSD machined covers for the brake and clutch reservoir and wanted the TC wind deflectors. But just 2 of the parts for the deflectors totaled up to $1600 so I need to find something else for the other $650.
