My Klim Induction Pro just landed. I was worried about sizing, as everything I read had a little bit of a different take. For reference, I’m a 37” chest. Ordered a small and it’s spot on, despite the size guide saying it’s max chest 36”.

I have a Revit Airwave 3 in black that, after a couple seasons, seems like a poor color choice for a summer jacket. Got the Klim in “cool gray.” The Klim seems to be made of better materials and is AA rated, whereas the Revit is rated A. Won’t be able to really run it for a few months yet, but I trust it’s gonna be an improvement in high heat comfort, if from nothing else just the color choice.

They’re on sale here (https://motorcyclegear.com/products/klim-induction-pro-jacket?variant=47967363530985) for $300 with most colors and sizes in stock.

It has zippers and vents that open. Very hot days, I switch to mesh. Love this jacket!
Thank you. Can I ask up till what temperature do you think is doable with this jacket, in a non-traffic environment? For example, is it bearable in 90degrees moving about 30mph? I'm in S.Florida :)

Even vented, a full leather jacket in Florida heat will be miserable. From my experience, even 80° in a vented leather, or even a perforated leather, is uncomfortably hot. Can’t imagine 90° with that Florida humidity. Unless you’re looking to drop weight from sweating out, get a purpose-made summer jacket. Get the leather for temps in the high 50s to low 70s. Anything over that, a mesh jacket with a long sleeve shirt that you can take off is prime.

Thanks. Sounds good.

On a side note, the following looks like a good BMW summer jacket, anyone have any experience with it?

for cheaper money, you get a way better jacket with the Klim I posted a few posts above. AA rated, level two armor and back pad included for $300. This BMW jacket is only A rated, looks like level one armor and no included back pad. And $400. Easy choice.

I agree with you BigJimSlim. I use the twin stripe leather jacket up to 70 deg. then switch to a mesh "Bilt" brand jacket. I am in south central Florida and try to ride early before noon. I also always use a helmet which can get uncomfortable in the afternoon.

The best summer jacket from BMW was the Venting Jacket. Not available anymore. This Summerscurssion is hot in hot condition

What I’m currently wearing - Horsehide from Hillside Leather, excellent quality, a little stiff til you break it in, very heavy, very warm, zip out liner.
Fully perforated Road Armor from Skullriderz, armor in shoulders, elbows, back, - very comfortable in hot conditions but needs a windproof underjacket as soon as it gets a little cool.IMG_0004.jpeg

I also have the Skullriderzfor summer riding, its excellent and well made.

I've been sporting this. Not riding much at the moment. I live in Arizona and it's a bit hot. Our riding season is the opposite of everybody elses. This from Old Soul Moto. Fully Kevlar lined with optional armor. I also like that it gives me a high amount of visibility without looking like a road hazard sign. I also have this leather from Ghost Rider Leather for those colder days and nights.

Saw this on eBay and had to buy it. Bonus...it is made of material that blocks wind.
Was very glad.

So, R18 owners...we have folks here from around the globe: France, Thailand, California, South Africa, Poland, Pennsylvania, etc. What are you wearing? ç

A mixed bag of oldies.

A heavy duty black leather short ´French´ fifties style jacket from the nineties.
An enduro style medium long black cordura all season jacket again nineties.
A cognac suede ´colbert´, Buttons only and not méant for motorbik but still very ok for local low speed pottering about. Bought used in the eighties.
And then a faux sheep lined Levis jacket bought in 2001.

All combines nicely with basic unlined yellow leather horse riding gloves.

p.s. just ordered a red/black checkered lumber jack model mc jacket.

to go with anything as needed a seventies/eighties FinMarin shawl.
