What's the jacket of choice for your R18?

For me it is thé classic mc jacket. Even for the café racer period
I bought one, different brand, in 1975 maybe 74 and rode a Norton Domi with a stupid rubber non-seal on the primary chain case cover. The jacket lasted me for me decades. Then basically only discarded it because it became too filthy (and smelly) even when 'cleaned´.
In the southern climate here the concept of waxed cotton is not really compatible with the climate. The únwaxed canvas-like one I went for instead will do ok in the Sahara too.

Thanks, we have all the seasons here, but can always ride in ok weather in any given week (retiring makes that easy) so have different gear for 12C degree days to 25C/40C etc. I shape shifted 4 or so years ago (90kg to 75kg) so not much I can do now. I fit this one but can't add layers underneath. I run two different sizes for jackets with the bigger size allowing for winter layering.... hence with jacket variations for style, colour, warmth, size/layering, weather proofing one can end up with lots of jackets... just like women's shoes (I added that to make it sound reasonable).

I thought you were going to stop at 'women´. But yes though the rest is applicable, those tend not be as tolerant among themselves as jackets.

Btw for mé it applies to bikes too. I am só tempted to buy another one

The rewaxing.
The jacket in the photo is an older one but not road dirt grimed. One longer ride in dusty condition would make it .... interesting. Cleaning as good as it goes would be a must before rewaxing. Súch a filthy job.
The rewaxing is ok, nice even. Apart from afterwards cleaning the black grime from under the finger nails.
The last step is letting it seep in. Hang it in the boiler room for a night. The room will smell of warm waxed road dirt for some time.
