I find it a little hard to believe that BMW would hand out $1,000 in money for accessories to currnet owners. I could see them doing that as a sales incentive for new bikes. Has anyone who is an existing owner received compensation?
I had my reverse disabled today at the dealer and on the invoice indicating it was done were also the two parts I ordered in compensation. It lists the part numbers, quantity and description. Under price for both it says "WARRANTY" and the total due is $0.00. If you're interested I ordered the Roland Sands machined mirrors which is part #77222469369 and the mini LED front blinkers (directionals) which is part number 77515A1A279. The mirrors are in stock in their US warehouse and they should come in Tuesday. The LED directionals are coming from Germany and they weren't able to give me an ETA yet.

Interesting, I thought the mini blinkers were not available for the US market. I ordered a set and they are coming from Germany either tomorrow or Monday by my calculations. The dealer will let me know. I did not order these as part of any compensation, just under my own accord.
QQ, does it means that if you receive compensation then you are not entitled to get the fix for the reverse gear once this is available?

Compensation, the way I understand it, is for the inconvenience of getting the reverser disabled but they should implement the fix once it's available.

If the above 4% is true, being the original owner 2021 FE at a sales price of $15,995 (I'd be lucky to get half that sales $$$ back today) I would receive $639 dollars, can't buy much with that at BMW R18 parts prices! Could I buy that BMW leather riding jacket for $595.00 I've been drooling over if I sew an R18 patch on it?

Fortunately I live in Southern California, and I don't ride the bike in the rain or wash the bike with the garden hose? Therefore at least in my ownership, I'll never have an issue with the reverse gear. At the current and probably continued decline in prices I can always drain the gas and place the bike in my large living room with marble floors as a piece of art since its so beautiful.

I too live in a dry climate, and don't ride in the rain by choice. I still went and got the reverse disconnected on both my R18 bikes. The reason being, I was happy with the 3 year free servicing on each bike as compensation until they fix is in. I didn't want to put off the disconnection too long, in case they got a fix sooner rather than later, and the compensation would no longer be offered because there is a fix.

Is the 3 year free servicing the basic just oil one... normally $785 or the full one.... normally $1868 (valve clearances, air filter, fork oil etc)?..... when buying them there are 2 types at different prices in Aust where we are.

I just had the 18,600 mile service last week on my '22 R18B and was told by the dealer that they disabled reverse for a recall. I was surprised, but I don't use reverse so I'm wasn't bothered. I could pretend to be bothered for $1000 in accessories though 🫣

I was actually bothered by the fact that the dealership had my bike for 10 days for a service that is basically just an oil change. One more service under warranty and hopefully I never have to see them again 🙏🏻

Which dealer is ordering the Mini-Directionals for you; I was told that BMW won't ship them to the US?

I emailed my dealership this morning, asking if BMW was going compensate me for removing the reverse function; I'm still waiting for a response.

I now have two R18 models, maybe I can use the compensation to finally purchase the 719 seat that have tripled in price...?

Maybe a good time to get two new tires, balanced and mounted if it is covered under the compensation plan..

I'd suggest a custom made, waist high, dual marble Roman columns, supporting an elongated crown molded rectangular platform --gives it the elevated status it deserves and being more eye level, makes it easier adore the artful engineering.

I'm in SoCal too and by your comment I'd think this issue only surfaces if water/moisture gets IN the reverse assist? In other words it's not something strictly internal like leaking engine fluids?

AI doesn't quite get it --but close. haha

Do you get $2k if you have two bikes? It seems like you should.
