What did you do to your R18 today?

Haven't put them on yet, but at least they're in my possession lol.

Nothing like coming home from work and finding new motorcycle parts sitting on your front steps...

I ordered the Wunderlich stainless steel mesh for the oil cooler; I broke down and spent $60 for something I probably could have bought at our local Benj Bros hardware store... Definitely not as exciting as a new exhaust system..

Luckily I work from home so I'm just waiting to see "package detected at front door" lol. Don't think I ever would have pulled the trigger if I hadn't heard them in person beforehand. Between the BTmoto tune and this exhaust, hoping to have something a bit more rip roaring. God knows my wallet is tired of this bike already :ROFLMAO:

I honestly love the little bolt on stuff. I wish the R18 (especially B/TC) had more of it. Getting through the winter months with <$100 doodads here and there is fun!

I put together a temporary exhaust solution while I continue to work on getting my fishtails modified. The mini tailpipes have no baffles and I added a short section of chrome heat shield to cover the gap between the OEM heat shield and the tailpipes which are black with a chrome tip.
Came out pretty good other than the misaligned heat shields. It does sound good.

Looks good!
Were they less than $2,000? ;)

How much is the fish?

Now that I’m living in A city, I’m a little blown away by how cheap things are. Economically, when there’s one place in all of northern New Hampshire detailing cars, they can charge whatever they want. Competition is kind of awesome.

Anyway, this place Affinity Detailing in Charlotte did 4 motorcycles & two vehicles for me over the course of two days. I paid about $600 for them to come to my house and do 6 vehicles inside and out and the bikes.

I asked them to spend time buffing the R18 with a rotary annd remove swirls and the gentleman said it’d be about $350 to do that because of how many nooks and crannies. He did the wheels, under carriage, etc on the R18 and said for $150 more, he’d apply ceramic coating and then an extra hydrophobic coating.

So for $1100 I had 2 cars, 4 bikes cleaned + ceramic coated the R18

My Golf R was ceramic coated in 2016 in New Hampshire and that cost $2000. The same place quoted me $3000 over the summer to do my truck so I still feel like I’m winning here. As most people know, the ceramic coating isn’t the magic, it’s the prep work. The guy was already going to de-swirl the R18 so having him coat it was the cheap part. it truly GLIMMERS.

Post detailing + ceramic coating photos. Bike has just over 5,000 miles now:

Made a pedestrian slicer for front fender, copper backing plate for engine nameplate, and highly reflective bmw stickers for the wheel rim. Finally, a phone-sized back on the tank and drink holder on handlebars

After some time I have finally installed a custom luggage rack for my 2021 Classic FE. I had a chap design a prototype using CAD, and the initial rack was plasma cut. It required a couple of minor tweeks, and the beta version 2 was a GO. I had a friend use a polishing wheel to smooth some burrs off which remained after the 5052 aluminum, 3/16", was cut. Then I had it Type III anodized. I just put it on the fender and I am happy. It is sturdy and fit for purpose. I do not plan to leave the rack on my machine all the time, just when I am taking a trip long enough to require some extra stuff.R 18 Muneer Allawi solo rack beta.jpgAMW R 18 Classic Rack.jpgIMG_7190.jpgIMG_7194.jpg
