My R18TC headlight recall is done too... No idea why but they changed the whole assembly. Oh well...
Ya, just had that recall completed last week with the reverse disabling. I looked at the invoice price of the headlamp replacement and the total with labor was $3490…for a headlight that appeared to work fine. Crazy.

I hand delivered my notice of reverse recall to the local dealer. He suggested I wait until the remedy is in, and then do the repair. I told him I didn't want to worry about a short circuit due to corrosion so they scheduled me in.

The saga continues ...
the parts coming from germany are late, so the bike stays in.
The dealer told me that other three R18 are in, waiting for the fix.
Forecast for the weekend is snow, so who cares ....

Unless you’re parked in the elements and/or ride in wet conditions, I’m not sure there’s more than a marginal risk of problem. However, I did get mine disconnected solely to collect the $1000 accessory credit. And now the bike sits in the shop for something else. Hoping timing works out and they can really fix the reverse while they have it.

Hi everyone, I'm an Italian owner of an r18 Transcontinental. A few days ago the BMW workshop in my city contacted me to inform me that the reverse gear issue has been solved and I have already take an appointment to reactivate the reverse gear.
C’mon BMW! Let’s get these parts stateside already!

When I took my GS in on Fridayfor warranty work I asked about the reverse fix. They hadn’t heard anything but did say that the Mothership filter fixes through so that dealers & the network aren’t inundated which makes sense. Frustrating but now we know our bikes will be fixed soon.
