Corbin Saddles for the R-18...

Just checked Corbin‘s website www.corbin.com - they have the Touring, Gun Fighter, and Classic Solo and Pillon. All shown with removable back rest(s). I has a Corbin Saddle on my R1200C and liked it a lot.

I’m partial to the Gun Fighter myself; black, with a silver welt; or white welt. I didn’t see prices so I’ll send them a letter. Maybe I’ll have to sell a gun and buy a seat!

I've ridden hundreds of bikes with Corbin seats and IMHO they usually look very nice, but most of the time they are much too hard. Then again, the majority of those seats were on sportbikes, so my experience may not be particularly apropos in this forum. The seats above LOOK comfy.

For overall comfort on very long rides I have found the Russell "Day-Long" seats to be the most comfortable. But then again, they are entirely function over form. It is like sitting in a Barcalounger while riding down the road.

I have an RDL on the R1200RT 70,000 miles, have done 6(six) 1500+ miles in 24 hour on it, Corbin on the K1600B, 30,000 miles one 1,550+ int 24 hours on this one. They both sit the same and no preference fort one or the other. The R18 is more of a 300 to 500 mile per day machine, K1600B is a long distance machine. Prefer the looks of the Corbin on the R18. The Honda in Brasil has the stock seat.

I like it - nice form and the piping fits in with the bike. I prefer it to the stock seat. I have the stock seat but the higher one as I am 6.3" tall so wanted a better leg angle. Even so I find myself sitting as far back as I can so on the ridge so the stock seat is still not ideal. Ideally I will find a seat that allows me to sit further back. Unfortunately this one looks like it would be worse than stock and push me nearer the tank. Hmmmm.

I "built" mine with black leather, a silver CF Welt, black tail and sides, medium silver logo. I think that the silver welt will be a nice contrast to the pin striping on the bike. $623 plus shipping; I didn't want to spend another $300 for the back rest though...

Now I can complete the custom mount.
COMPLETED.

So Monday at around 1:00 PM the UPS Truck rolls up; and delivers my new Corbin Saddle. Great news; the bad news is I’m in the hospital with pneumonia! Will do an unpack and install video when I get home!
Get well. There will be plenty of time to try the seat and put in the miles.
