What mode were you in? I noticed the sharper response in 1, 2, 3 when in Roll --nothing really in 4th and beyond.
I haven't tried Rock mode yet. But rock is a bit much for me.

Here's what they say is improved:

  • Full-Time Closed Loop (FTCL) Fueling Adjustments
  • Removed RPM "Soft" Limiter
  • Rough Idle Fix - Cold and Warm
  • Increased Torque Limits
  • Increased Throttle Limiter To 100%
  • Sharper Throttle Response
  • More Aggressive "Rock" Mode Rumble
  • Increased Ignition Timing
  • Fixed Bucking and Rev Hang
  • Removed Top Speed Limiter
I am in full time rock mode unless riding in the rain, then I like rain mode to keep the rear in check.

Hey guys, checking back in now that most of these are tuned.

I see some software questions - I've never had good luck with parallels and tested personally, some have but I don't know what they did different than I did. A basic and cheap windows computer usually can sort this out pretty easily. I don't make the device itself or software, just the tuning and I've given them lots of feedback on the software going smoother.

In terms of the dealer update, unfortunately I have to pay my tuner to re-do the map. Some of these newer bikes (s1000 in particular) see 5+ updates per year. Obviously most customers aren't going to the dealer that much (most go once per year from my experience). The good thing is that when the bikes are out of warranty the updates will basically stop.

Finally - some have mentioned no real noticeably or worthwhile changes from the mapping. That is not our experience from riding these bikes before / after. Of course there are definitely bikes out there that need the tuning support more, but this should definitely make a good difference. If you think something is amiss send an email in to [email protected] and one of my guys can look into it.

Chris

From a forum side, I can't see any reason why not, although someone with more seniority than I might want to chime in.

And you might want to ask @BT Moto first to see if he'd be open to it again too.

Hello everyone. New member here. I stumbled upon this thread and wanted to know if I am too late to enter? If so, can we start another group buy?
I'd contact BT direct, tell them your sad story (I missed the buy group because I was distracted saving the polar bears and was wondering).....and see what they might do for you.... I'd guess you might get 10% off with out much hassle.

And welcome to the forum from me!

We could put together another group buy if there is enough interest. I'd need 10 to do that and 20 would put it at a higher discount tier.

What is the latest info on Brentune single user cost?
I paid $350 to tune a Kawasaki Voyager a few years ago. Made a huge difference but I thought the cost was enormous for just changing a map.

Some time back I heard $700. No way Jose.

$799 to tune that bike with our handheld tuner. Once you have the physical device if you uninstalled it from that R18 and wanted to use it on another supported bike that would be $299.

Im in. I also like to buy your GS 911 Diagnostic tool. Can you swing the discount for this too?

I don't really have any good margin available on the GS911 unfortunately as we just resell it don't manufacture it.

For say a hot VAG you get 50-60 hp for 500€.

On the R18 the differences can only be relatively marginal.

For any serious power gains you need to think AMR500 supercharger on each cylinder.

Anyway back to BT for the R18.
From what I understand the parametersare for the same petrol octane rating as BMW specs. which RON 95 with a healthy safety margin. If the RON 98 rating would be used, than the ignition could be more advanced and that would even add some max hp. At €500 and no hassle install like the above mentioned VAG tuning I would consider thát.
As it is I will just open up the intake a bit.
