While I was at the dealer picking up the R18B after replacing the transmission breather, I asked to see the headlamp diagram. I was curious to know if they actually used grommets for the bottom mounting point… They do

Wonder if maybe the grommet they’re using for the recall is more robust or something?

Let me know how it goes with the new breather ... I am still not 100% convinced that was the problem on mine .. I still suspect the oil that I used .. but you did not use that band of oil ... so maybe?

Whatever brand oil the dealer used is what’s in the bike.

I took delivery Saturday, July 15 in New Milford, CT. It was a thrill to arrive at the dealer and see Black Swan sitting in front of the shop with a sold sign hanging from the handlebars. The dealer loaded the Connect app on my phone, demonstrated the R18's features and I saddled up for a 3500 mile trek. The first stop was the Adirondack Mountains--Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain. My motorcycle buddy, riding a 23 Street Glide, popped into MAX BMW with me in Troy, NY, and had the 600 mile service done. So far so good. Riding like I stole TC, we headed for the Virginia Blue Ridge Parkway. From there, the Smokey Mountains and down into Atlanta. 3500 miles later, and tons of spontaneous compliments, we arrived home safe from a memorable trip and elated with the R18 Transcontinental. On Interstates 40 and 83, she performed amazingly. The only issues were I need a Corbin seat and I didn't have the USB-C cord to power my Android in the infotainment compartment. (I plugged it in the trunk).
I'm ready for another long distance ride, and couldn't be happier as a TC owner.
Wishlist: Corbin seat, Heli handlebars and tipover bars, ceramic coating and highway pegs. We averaged 400 miles daily. I could easily stay in the saddle for 200 more miles with my Wishlist items.

Concur, love our TC.

My headlight was replaced early on, prior to the recall notice, which was almost a year ago; I took a closer look at it earlier today and it looks 100% without any visible issues of failing..

This post probably just jinxed me..
what would the "visible issues" be? Thanks?

If that central reflector bit looks at all crooked and if the space around it isn’t consistent, you may be a victim to the issue.

If you haven’t been following, BMW’s remedy for this recall is to replace the headlight unit and install it with new bushings at the mounting points. We’re yet to understand if those bushings are in any way different from what came stock.

Fingers crossed that this is a permanent fix for us B and TC owners.

Hopefully so far so good

My dealer ordered my recall headlamp. I had to contact the dealership and ask about the recall and they informed my the parts were avaliable. Hopefully it will be resolved this week.

I never received anything from the factory about a recall. Should I be concerned?? I plug my VIN into the magic box, and it did show up on the naughty list.

I never got anything either from the dealer, however, when I went for my last service they told me they needed to check the bike headlight according to Motorrad’s instructions. Give them a call if your service is not due soon or you do your own.

Oh, there were a number of us waiting anxiously for BMW to issue a fix. (I checked the safety recall site almost daily). My headlamp, with the 2023 TC sitting on the showroom floor, was fixed the week of June 10th. I've put 3500 miles on the TC since then. Not a single issue.
Good luck. I would be surprised if all headlamps in the U.S. and abroad have not been fixed.
