I was upside down by about 1700.00, They got a "twofer" from me I traded the R18 still owing about 17K and change they gave me 16. Only had 8800 miles on the bike, I also traded a 2016 R1200 RT with 36K on it that was paid for so I still had a bit of down payment. I got 0% financing for 48...
I AM trading my R18TC in tomorrow for a 2023 R1250RT (new, Demo). It is more in line with the type of riding I enjoy. Not entirely disappointed with the R18 TC, but it just doesnt have the leg a R1200RT/ 1250RT or even a K1600GTL has. Almost 1000 pounds is another. there have been times I have...

Yep Wunderlich top rack, Load limit is very light. I normally put things in there ( Wunderlich top rack bag for the GTL) that it doesn't matter if they get wet, or are wet, yet I need quick access. Rain gear, Sunscreen, aspirin / meds (in water proof containers.) Water bottles are too much...
Up to you of course, but it is scary to drill through but its not that hard The screws go into the rack from the inside, some silicone around the holes make it water tight. Lots of masking tape on top of the lid so the drill bit doesn't walk. Easy peezy
Didn't think of RV shops, Although I am not impressed with their "abilities" when it comes to my RV either LOL. I did a pretty basic internet search including the manufacturer that I found on the strut, They did not list any thing on line, If I remember correctly (its been a "few days" & I have...
I added the Top case rack and the organizer inside the lid. Needless to say the "Self closing feature" works way too well! LOL. That's even before I strap anything on the rack. I did Look around and even asked my dealer and there are not stronger gas struts available, or so I have been told. So...
I was over in North Carolina this past spring at the Wheels of time museum. It was a pretty rainy day, (Buckets!) left the bike in the parking lot, for about 3 or 4 hours. Came out got on the bike rode out to the main road to head back to Tn, and I also got the big red warning flag! Pulled over...
Honest Officer, I wasn't going much more than 110 MPH ! We weren't below 10,000 feet for more than a few seconds, there was no danger, so I took a shot! ROFLMAO! (Nicely played! :ROFLMAO: )
Whew! Guess that give a whole new meaning to "Ride it like ya stole it!" Sorry ya got so much battle damage. Do what ya can and get out however! Sad to see such a beautiful bike scraped up like that. But also glad your insurance is good and no one got hurt other than "pride hurt"
Rock Most of the time, I'll switch to rain when the pavement is wet, Rode my GTL the same way, When I want power, I do not want to play around. Keep it around 3K when moving on down the road. Up shift and down shift depends, Boxers are know for their engine braking abilities!
I did the dragon, moonshiner and Cherohala Skyway, on my Trashcan. Did a lot of footboard draggin! LOL Cupped the front tire enough to change tires about a month later. Trashcan handled ok on all of those, But The GTL was much more fun. My buddy had never ridden any of these and wanted to go...
use masking tape on top of the top case, mark with magic marker and "drill baby drill" The masking tape keeps the drill from walking and scratching the top. Ialso mounted this rack and my lid will not stay open either. I carry a door stop placed by one of the hinges to hold it open. I asked the...
