Have you released the pinch bolts? Also, a couple of turns with a hex socket (check which size, Wunderlich has a good too) will release it and it will come right out. (Replace with good lithium grease)
Maybe I ride a little more conservatively, but down here in Spain we don't lack for hairpin corners.... but seriously, it is not something I worry about as I take the B roads
I have a R18 TC for a couple of years now, riding across good parts of the US and Europe. Standard set-up..... never scraped the pedals once on any of the curvy roads, not even climbing up the Stelvio pass. I would not worry about it. Only issue on the bike, the Michelin front tire is...
Just got a letter here in Spain that they are recalling the bikes for the reverse gear issue. Seems that there are some humidity issues affecting those bikes operating in hot/humid climates. They are promising a 'free accessory' but have no idea what that means
Wunderlich may has some accessories for these. The OEM pedals are very short and easy to miss. I changed them to the Wunderlich ones which are a little longer. (and no longer miss when downshifting when wearing the big boots.
It can be done though. The deal has the 'power' to switch from Miles to KM, just the US version does not allow the user to do it. Funnily enough.... the analog speedometer plays along. Even though the dial is in miles. When you are going at 120km per hour (as per the digital...
Yes, it is aggravating. The question really is for BMW to answer.... 'Why did you go through the design effort to have different versions that limit your customers in the USA (Your key target market for the R18, right?)'. Is it an oversight? Well, what are your engineers doing all day...
One of the reason for going with the TC over a Harley was a dubious experience with the latter in Australia. Wanted to pass, on an Ultra, 2-up, a truck going up hill. With full gas the Harley made more noise but accelerates little. We barely made it around the truck before oncoming traffic...
I originally had the RAM mount with the MagSafe charger. That did not work well. Depends on you placing an Apple branded MagSafe charger inside the holder with a plastic plate for water protection. That worked very poorly. Throughput was low, and it was really fiddly to get the phone and...
I found the map function to be more than dangerous. Yes, it switches after a phone call, yes, it does so randomly. But worse, the navigation is unbelievably clunky and very distracting. Icons don’t scale, streets are barely visible; little contrast between your route and the rest. Can’t even...
The TC is a little limited on bag volume compared to the Harleys or even my old CL (which could take a helmet in the saddlebag, believe it or not….upside-down). But even so, with a little origami one can get two full face helmets into the trunk and with the luggage inserts and a little...
Mine does as well. The top case floats on top of 4 rubber bushings so it is intended to have some ‘movement’ or ‘suspension’. 4 M8-35mm (T45 Torx) are used to screw up from underneath the case into two base plates/nuts that you will find underneath the carpet in the case. (That with four...
Same wiring. Different logic. The rear indicators in the US do not use the exterior ring and only use the center red field for both brake and left/right. The European version uses a red ring for brakes and an amber center for left/right. The weird thing is, the US version has the same...
