The R18 sidecar thread

Getting on with the GoPro. Have the hardware sorted, the software installed.
Expect a learning curve for recording and probably need help with downloading/uploading because I use Linux.

Dog installed, pottered over the ´high street´, stopped in the shade to start recording. Out of the village over the bridge opened up into third and... the support was shook to bits. To flew off with camera. Saw it bouncing off. Stoppd in the berm. Turned around, stopped in the berm. Put the dog in the shade under the tree and went walk the road.
Found it. The lens cover did what it is meant to do and is very much worse for wear. Camera seems to be ok.

Could not down/up load as Linux is too complicated for the effort I am prepaired to put into it.
So on Windows/Firefox again. Unfortunately all photos gone awol. Not a biggy imo. Mostly nude ex gfs anyway :cool:

Now have my first evvah youtube channel created.
Next have a look if I can get the recording on the pc and edited 🤞
I find it a bit of a waste of a time; I´d rather faff/ride with a scoot/sidecar :rolleyes:

By all means comment in the Channel. It is my first evvah such endeavor but the lárge sidecar 💪 and my little ´Píccolo ´ :love: warrant the effort. Also :cool: to go out of my comfort zone and learn new stuff (y) Was with Canbus the same.

Your fur child is a CHAMPION. In your next video, do a walk around because the magnificent work you have done to create this masterpiece needs to be shown to the R18 and sidecar world… well done.

Dogs are your profession so you can appreciate how Giacomo is is focussed on éverything within the bubble of confidence in me. It is so só rewarding for me.
Yes, the way the rig turned out to and will indeed do a walk around.
 
Planning to pick up Giacomo with the R18 rig again tomorrow morning.
Hope to be able to take recordings from two pov.

Just asked the local tyre guy to look up the Heidenau 11130152 K 28 Seitenwagen 4.00-19 71P Reinf. TT
It has the flat profile and should be a noticeable improvement on the front wheel.

Surprisingly well thought through design btw. Functionally it is realistic and semi automatically loads the projectiles from the magazine, the bolt action ejects the cartridge.
 
With a sidecar attached you put a lót more effrt in the steering. Obvious no?? Also thus more pressure on the handlebars, the grips, ergo the twist grip. It could do with a bit of lube.

Also washed the dirt roads off of it early this morning. Out to blow the last drops off of it, went through main street. Had to stop for a pedestrian crossing and while waiting a was saw it fit to sting in the top of my foot on the brake. Again glad with the side wheel.

Did some maintenance on the Nimbus, put tyres on pressure and took her out for wash, wipe off, ride dry. As good as any an excuse for a spin through the lovely mountainous country.
With the straight cut gears who needs a female passenger 🫣

The difference is shocking. The Nimbus rig drives way nicer to be honest but then it weighs 225 kg in total and has at most a dozen of elderly horses pulling. Also a real hard tail so all is very taught.
Heidi can outrun it´s top speed in 1st!

Great comparison though. Will have to get them both out for a photo shoot.

It also has me rerethinking about a NotSoModern (2-stroke shifty) Vespa with sidecar. Half the Nimbus´ weight and ´power´.
 
That is übergood news! Thanks for sharing. Had a good look at their fitting solutions.

They will have fun with the CANBUS :p Even I managed it so they should need less time.

It is a lot! wider than mine. Also a heavier ´chair´ so no risk of it coming up in righthanders.
Mentally prepare for heavy steering. Especially lefthanders. It´s ok and you will get used to it but regardless of the set up it will need wrestling though the bends.

VERY curious to your experience(s),
