Yes I drilled the lower case. The problem is the hot engine oil heating the air. Instead of just cooling the air (albeit a great idea) I also cooled the oil. Based on temperature probes, In theory with this set up, if you could go fast enough, you can eliminate the need for an oil cooler. ( not recommended)
I got two fans for the week from a friend who works at the aeronautical department at the university of Washington. The can blow 85 mph. I added smoke to the side fan for observational purposes only.
The red line on the Dyno ( it takes a snapshot of the final run) shows the increase in torque.
The drilling was faster than I thought. If you bring your bike to Seattle I can do it for say $250-$300 per side? Just trying to keep it reasonable for forum members.
