I will remain optimistic! I think the worst seat ever on a cruiser was a vtx 1800 honda so if its better than that I am going to be fine. Thanks for the pep talk!
Modified the drivers portion of my Transcontinental seat today. OMG what a difference! Intended to just ride around the block and see if it made a difference. Ended up riding about an hour straight with no pain at all. NOTE: Removed seat cover and used spray adhesive to install the Butt Buffer gel pad. Used 1/8 foam on top to smooth everything out.

Hi Lloyd,
I just got the R18B (traded my classic). The seat on the B is not great. I have the dayrider seat (i bough for the classic) Is it possible to install it on the R18B? Do I need to make any modifications? Do you have any other recomendations, especially for the passenger?

Thanks

Key FOB Question. When I picked up my R18 from the dealer, they had broken my key. I called a few weeks later, and they said the key was in, and they'd mail it. They didn't. Then I was going through there to see my Dad (I live 3.5 hours from the dealership) and stopped in. The key was on the service managers desk.
Anybody got any links, videos, or steps to link the FOB?

I am in a similar situation. Have a replacement key which hasn't been programmed yet. Have been using the Plastic key to unlock the handlebar and using the old key fob for proximity to go with it. Were you able to find a solution to this?

to pair a new r18 key fob, i believe you can hold the new key fob (from bmw for vin) under rear fender, in the indentation under seat area.. on r18 ... r18 tc... then hold the lock button on the fob for several seconds.. as i recall, that may be all you have to do.

Hi Tony
I am guessing around about the 7th of September. Would have been earlier but for having a modified paint scheme. Was wondering about having the seat modified with gel pads etc. Keep the seat as original as possible but more comfortable. I quite like the look of the seat but as you say, might benefit from more comfort.

As you will see on here the seat does not have too many fans. A shame because you will find the bike is a natural for covering long distances.

Looking forward to the whole experience. Best I price up some mod's on the seat though.
Kate at Williams BMW Motrorad who sold me the bike has her own YouTube channel <USERNAMEKATE>. She gives a good review on the R18 and shows she has a larger pair of balls than me when it comes to weaving through the traffic.
Where did you purchase the fairing?

Sorry for butting in, by the way, I just saw the question. Didn't even know I COULD answer. :)
Looking for a small windscreen for chest protection only - don't want to take away the clean naked look of the R18, my full face Shoie can take care of that.
Where in Mass. are you?

I'm near Hartford, CT, and ride a Classic. I often ride in Western Mass--Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Lenox, Lee, Otis.

Happy to meet up for a ride sometime if you're not too far.
