What did you do to your R18 today?

How do you find the back rest (or your passenger) and what was install like?
Roadstyler.com
Install was very straightforward , they have pdfs of their website. If you have two people you don’t need to completely remove the saddle bags. Basically remove saddlebag bolts install brackets w supplied bolts and reattach saddle bags.

It is a high quality part, I like it better than the Wunderlich backrest, the W version is nice but way over priced in my opinion and I was tired of waiting for it to be in stock (7 months).

Wheel Shine w/ Dura-Coating: I was cleaning out my garage and came across some leftover Dura-Coating wheel shine that I used on my RV; I cleaned my front wheel and applied the Dura-Coating wheel shine within the side of the tire space between the wheel and the chicken-strip edge. It gives my front wheel that wet look, without that greasy feel and it doesn't wipe or fling off..

The below pictures don't really capture the look, but you can see the darker color:

I have come to the conclusion that the R18 FE is prettier the less stuff it has. I regret having spent money on the OEM Windshield, on the auxiliary lights and I don't know if I would even dare to go back to the original seat, maybe with some AirHawk... My modifications, from now on, I feel that they would go more for the aesthetic side : cylinder heads, wheel changes, and nothing else. My thoughts, don't listen to me... and don't take it as a "so ugly" to your modifications

I sort of run along those lines on the R18FE, less might be more. Course that did not stop me from getting the upgraded Weekender dual seat and wunderlich led shaft drive spot light. Did get a used cell phone tank holder from the site but will need to buy some 3m film to apply to area of the tank to protect the paint finish before adding that item.

Am supposed to get a madstad windscreen later this month, with lowers though I do have a grayish color bmw S fairing that I sort of like.

Too bad the holden 3/4 helmet, sort of looks like below, I won is gold color and not silver :(

Time for a little experiment today on my R18C. I went to wipe off my left Memphis Shades Fang and errantly grabbed the fresh acetone rag. Damage was minimal and a quick polish cleaned it up like new. When remounting, I decided to flip the right and left sides —presenting the concave surface to the air flow. I was concerned about inducing a “sailing” effect, but I think it will be fine. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm completely lost.. More details and perhaps a picture would help

This afternoon I fitted the micro indicators, TFT protector and tinted wind deflector to my R18B. It was dark by the time I’d finished so no completed pics yet but I’m very happy with how it looks now. I did find a pic online of a non FE R18B with the same screen and indicators fitted to give an idea.

Any ex Street Glide owners that have removed a batwing fairing from a 2014 up bike know how quick and easy it is. The R18B is not quick and easy, there are bolts everywhere but the install manual is good.

Regarding the indicators as I know there’s hardly any info out there, they are sold and priced individually which came as a bit of a shock as they are not cheap 😬 They are plug and play however, so no coding needed despite what the parts page says. They flash at the correct speed both on the dash and the indicator itself. The new connectors are have 1 & 2 imprinted so no confusion about which wire goes in which side.

I had a service overdue message on my dash when I turned it on, this went away once I had reset the time and date.

Any pictures of your bike with the mini directionals?
