Removing the airbox cover.

Has anyone had experience removing the the air box cover? What needs to be removed to access whatever is fastening to the case?

I’d refer to my service manual but BMW still has them on back order.

I am talking about the chome cover that sits atop the airbox under the tank.

MilwDave - I had downloaded this a while back off of the BMW Motorrad/Service/Installation Manuals page; however, I can't remember from which bike I pulled it from. I have the PDF, but it's like 20Mb big and I don't think I can post it on the forum.

The screen shots should be enough to get you going.

I did .. it is 2 piece and a real pain in the rear to get back on .. the black piece right below, that are 3 pieces and I never did manage to remove the middle (rear) piece ...

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was looking for.
I didn’t want to fumble around and break anything.
That was the instructions for the RSD Billet cover that BMW never made available.
