I'm 5' 9" and didn't have any real complaints"buffeting" wise on my Model B; however, I did sort-of convert my Model B to take on the TC attributes from a Lower Leg Wind Protection and Fairing Winglets.(I knew this would happen while looking at the bike on the showroom floor). I also added the Auxiliary Lights and Directionals in the same manner as the TC; however, wind buffeting wasn't the driving force - I wanted comfort options when riding long distances.

I do adjust the Fairing Winglets depending on weather temperature and riding speed in order to manage the effects of the apparent wind; for instance, Winglets are OPEN at speeds below 50 - 55 mph and CLOSED at higher speeds... I absolutely feel a difference between the two states, and that is exactly what I wanted - choice to make me comfortable...

I sometimes think that folks are comparing the effects of the wind on their motorcycle vs driving in their car...

Agreed.. some bikes management it better than others.. but it comes with the hobby of riding...
What are these winglets of which you speak? I've fitted the side ones down by the indicators which didn't do anything and just yesterday fitted a cheap Ali Express screen to the top of the R18B stock screen which works very well but can make my eyes go blurry at speed which is not ideal. I'm not comparing the diabolical wind buffeting I'm experiencing with the stock screen to riding in a car, but its worse than any bike I ever rode before, most of them naked style bikes until I got older. Love to see what the winglets look like, thanks (I'm 5'9" as well)

As the old saying goes... "You get what you paid for..."

Actually.. I'm not sure of the difference between the knock off brand and the BMW OEM equipment..

Mine doesn't have those but I bought aftermarket set in the hope it might reduce buffeting but no noticeable difference
I think the winglets play a small part stopping the wind that travels from the bottom of the fairing and the top of the tank. The other part comes from the leg/knee fairing that the TC has.
Like you, I purchased a set from a shop in Japan, that in dimension terms is the same size as the OEM, just a tad thinner and it is non retractable. On my first ride I certainly noticed the difference, now, not so much, which means I got used to the current level of turbulence and I forgot what it was like before without them.

i have the same klockwerks 14 inch my R18B. same issue with wind buffering above 75 mph. i have the lowers also installed . if i lower my head just 2 inches no more eye ball shuffle and my helmet is steady. i ordered a 7JUROCK 17 INCH CLEAR WINDSHIELD, and it will arrive today. i will post pics and report back with my findings

I have the Jurock 18” without the “flip” and like it well. I am 5’8” and see over the top.
If I stretch up a bit the wind blast hits the top of my helmet. This tells me the 17” would be too low.

The Jurock 18 plus lowers from Memphis shades provides a quiet ride, not unlike a former RoadGlide I owned.

They sent me the 17 inch with the flip and kinda a straight cut on the top edges . Tristen also sent me there new style that’s mostly a curve from side to side on the top . He said to try them both . He charged me for only one windshield. 7Jurock . That’s taking care of your customers.

Ok I installed there old style 17 did about 100 miles and got the shaky eyes from 70 mph and on. Installed there new design and did the same ride . With this 17 inch new style . My eyes are just below the top looking through . Made a big difference with the new style . Hardly any wind buffeting and any speed below 90 mph . I’m going to keep this one and and I can honestly say that for the first time since I owned this R18 , I enjoy the ride now.

I need to enjoy the ride too or I’m an unhappy camper. This applies to handlebars, seat, & windshield.

When I first tried the Jurock 18, the horizon vibrated like a diving board, but then I realized the buffeting was coming from underneath. Fixed that with lowers from Memphis shades.

Right now I have a turbulent free ride. The Jurock is big and wide…..just right.

Hey there. Sounds like you got it right, perfect. One question though; if you stretch up just enough to look over the screen is the buffeting still the same?

Good information and I've tried to contact Jurock with a question but no reply yet. If you're looking through the screen would a tinted screen affect your night vision? I'm looking at getting the blue one, 17" and I'm 5'9", are we similar height?

I put the Klockwerks windscreen on my TC yesterday. A quick 200km ride today and I have results. The line of sight is great. I don't have the windshield top right in my eyes. The wind buffering is about the same as with the TC screen. I do have to say that at 5'8", the wind only just goes over the helmet. Someone over 6' would get the wind right in the face.

Had the KlockWerks on my B before selling it. I am tallll, and the KW definitely calmed the air in comparison to the stock shield. Still had some kind of “eye shaking buffeting” happen at higher speeds, but at like 60 and below, it’s pretty good at tossing the air over the head, even for a tall drink.

It seems to me that the TC windshield should be on the B. The TC I once owned was terrific at wind management.
I know of a guy who opted for a Jurock on his model B, with good results.

Curious what Star-L has on his B?

Stock OEM R18 Model B windshield; I'm guessing, I sit in such a way where the wind probably just tops my helmet, and my eyes have a clear view just over the edge of the windshield - I ride in a very relaxed position.

I have the Jurock 18” light smoke with no flip. It is wide and stops just below eye level. I am 5’8” and have the Jurock mounted on the classic mounting hardware.
I’m very happy with this screen. Because it blocks a high volume of wind, there will be some updraft due to vacuum effect of low pressure. You can eliminate the updraft with small fork deflectors from Memphis Shades.
I have the part numbers if interested.

I believe I bought the 18 inch Jurock for my TC. With the winglets closed I get no wind on my helmet well above 70 mph. I’m 5’8 and the windshield sits about an inch or so below my nose.
What is the difference in hight from the original TC windscreen to your 18" Jurock? If you were to measure from the top and down to the top of the bike?
