Hoping that someone has installed a Wilbers rear shock and can provide some advice or how-to tips, or direct me to an instructional YouTube video. Searched the forum, but not much info except for some good reviews. Thanks in advance.

Maybe review the Homage Seat & Bobber kit installation instructions;.it provides access to the shock, since the entire Seat Panel and Rear Fender is removed, exposing the Shock's anchor points?

It looks pretty straightforward; I used the same set of instructions to get my project bike to where it is now - waiting on LMC parts:

Thanks, Star-Lord. I'll look up the Bobber Kit instructions. Hoping I won't have to take off the rear fender or mufflers to access the bottom bolt. I have a Kern-Stabi lift like yours, so that should make the job easier when the Wilbers arrives - looks like up to a 4 week wait for delivery.

See the two below pictures; I temperarly zip tied the taillights and connected the electrical connections so as not to generate any error codes.

I lifted up the taillights, and was able to see the shock mounting points pretty well; you can see the four bolt points for the rear fender as well - zip ties are using the two front bolt points:

Have you checked the setting for original? I was annoyed with original till i found that BMW did not adjusted the preload...it was set for transportation = fully open.
I've set the preload to my usual weight with side bags and it's incomparable

Thanks again, Star-Lord, yes, I read the Wilbers Shock thread - which was the reason I ordered the Wilbers +20mm. I've found the torque value for the suspension bolts (100 Nm), and I see now that I'll need to remove the fender to access the lower bolt. I was hoping not to have to do this because I've already added saddlebags, rear guards, and a rear rack w/drivers backrest. All this will need to come off, too, but easily done with a little patience. Thanks, Petr Kunc, yes, I did readjust the preload for my weight, and it helped a little to soften the ride, but my 68 yr. old bones are still getting rattled. At 5'8" and 140 lbs, I'm hoping the Wilbers will give me a better, more comfortable ride around town and on rough country highways. :)

You need to jack up Rise the back of the bike and put a lifting device under the rear wheel to support and adjust things when removing the stock and adding the Wilber’s
