Is it possible to reset service warning

Yes, but it only allows you to reset it for up to a year. Then you’ll have to do it again. However, that may a limitation built into the ECU by BMW.

I didn’t see a menu option that addressed other functionalities. The unit is a basic OBD reader that allows you to read/clear codes and reset service reminders. That’s all I need and it worked as advertised.

I see ... I really like the 'Cruising Lights' option and some of the real-time telemetry that the GS-911 does ... but as you said it sounds like a great off-line, lost cost alternative

HealTech sells 2 tools, one for clearing faults (FI Cleaner) and another for the service interval (Maintenance Mate MM-BM1), I have both and they work perfectly on my FE R18 without any other computer or adaptor. Cost is about $139 each.

Personally I would pick up a GS-911 Wi-Fi version. 10 vins can be used, so split it with a friend or 2 with BMW bikes (verify compatibility first). You can activate features that were coded into the bike but aren't available in your part of the world. An example for me is the daytime running lamps on my 2024 S1krr. Can also change the screen order on the S1k, and other features. I haven't dug around in the R18 to see what coding features are in there yet lol. I might this weekend.

What's the 'Cruising Lights' option?

It is a setting in the ECU that I was able to activate where the front turn signals stay on at @ 30% brightness all the time ... kinda like the tail lights on the US version and just get brighter when the turn signal is activated. Something like this:

Unfortunately I didn't turn on the turn signals .. but you get the idea I am sure

I’m old … my GS-911 did not plug into the ECU reader on my R18. I got a simple Bluetooth reader, the moto scan app and since its android only I got a $29 android tablet from Amazon. I’m really quite pleased, it has full service capability and makes resets a 5 minute process (it takes a few minutes to get the Tupperware off to access the the detachable reader)

I don’t have wi-fi or cellular service in my barn/garage so anything requiring either of those was a no-go for me.

The 911 only needs WiFi for the service reminder function .. all others (as far as I know) will work via peer-to-peer WiFi generated right of the device ... but if you want to do the service reminder you will need a independent WiFi network ... having said that, the 911 may not be for you then ... too bad

So I assume using the OBDLink MX+ and Motoscan is still the cheapest way to reset the service counter and read/reset codes? Did my first out of warranty oil change and need to reset the annoying reminder. Thanks
