From the “bikeexif” site, for those who want more pics. I like the paint. Rear cowl is nice, if impractical. I guess you wouldn’t ride this in the rain anyway. It’s got blinkers, mirrors, why not a front fender? I think that would finish it off nicely.

Not a fan. Like the colour, not so big on the concept.

That's a really interesting retro minimalist look. Very cool. Really shows off the exposed retro look kardan shaft. Love the knee pads and the fender bracings too, but no valve covers? Thats off point to my eye. Needed ribbed valve covers. I wonder about that back tyre - looks too narrow or too low profile? And definitely needs some 1802 performance plates.

To the Valve covers ...well the outer covers ... where are the spark plug wires and the fuel injectors? ... has this been converted to a carb? ... looking at the back of the motor it sure could be ... but still where are the spark plug wires? is it only running on the bottom ones? ... well that would help with the skinny tires ... it's nice ... great fab job ... but not for me sorry ;)

... and I see that they capped off the injector port ... so carb it is ... well as a concept a great fab job ... but 0 practical for somebody that uses this bike as an actual every day transportation. ;)
 
I dont get this. I love that the R18 has the retro look, but if I truly wanted a vintage bike I would rather restore an old vintage bike instead of destroying a new bike to make it look and run like an old one..... just my opinion.

Nah.... just pay a hooker to seduce a married testing guy, get a few snaps and you'll have no issues for years. No need to bring the bomb drop forward!
 
Just while we're on the impracticalities, where did the battery go? And did they shrink the size of the front discs? How do you stop the thing? On the flip side, I decided I liked the look of the air intake housing with its mesh screen - better than performance plates. The carbs are way cool, but the inline fuel tap and filter? Given I ride a Trancontinental to work every day, I'm not sure sure I can safely comment on the practicalities of that thing (given glass houses, stones, etc), but I think ccmjr77 has it right - stick with the 2020s engineering of the R18s and get a 1960s R69 S for the retro stuff.

Easy.... hire a tour de france bicycle engineer for a couple of days..... they can fit batteries and motors somewhere in the frame......

Anyway, a bike made in the image of a first wife, seemed like a good idea at the time but not a keeper for every day use.
