I am so sorry to hear about your diagnostic, I hope and wish the very best for you. Sad to hear you have put the bike up for sale but I understand it is the sensible decision to make. She is a beautiful bike and at that price she is a steal.

Saw the ad, if I didn’t just buy 2 motorcycles I would have this in my garage! I have a spare pullback riser from my ownership of a R18 classic. I’m in Austin. If your buyer wants the pullback, I’m happy to give it away for free

Goforth, I will certainly mention your offer when my R18 sells. At the price I'm asking, I cannot understand why it has not sold as it is a most remarkable motorcycle!

I love my R18FE (same as yours). There would come a "price floor" were (if possible) I would keep it just to go down to the garage to sit on it, feel it, smell it and listen to it.... and to hell with any real rationalising.
To be honest I'd probally go for a weekday, mid morning "around the block doddle" (uninsured, unregistered) as well when the wife is out until I knew I was beyond that (and yes, the wife is scarier then the law).

So is that the way to lift the rear tire off the ground with the Kern-Stabi? I noticed with the front wheels on the lift the rear wheel barely comes off the ground, so I have to give it a try that way....

I use the Kern-Stabi X518 stand to lift both wheels off the ground for cleaning in such, as it lets me spin the wheels; same goes, for when adjusting the valves and changing the fluids. Valve adjustment requires rotating the rear wheel in order to find TDC and when it comes to changing the engine oil, I like that the bike is perfectly centered; if I need more height, I raise the bike up using a hydraulic floor jack in combination with the X518 stand - where the floor jack is making contact with the X518 rails.

I used the Kern-Stabi for cleaning and I noticed it easily raised the front wheel so I could spin and clean it, but the rear wheel stayed with weight on the ground. After I lowered the front wheels on the Kern-Stabi I noticed the rear wheel of the R came off the ground slightly but still touched and gave friction as I rotated the rear wheel. I will try next time to remove the front wheels of the Kern-Stabi and see if it lifts the rear wheel of the R like it did in your picture.
