I really need to stop checking out this section of the site lol.
I have a 2005 r1200rt, 2021 r18fe, 2022 bmw ce04, and a 2023 r1250gs low.
I do not wrench on my own bikes, they go to the dealer.
That being said, would buying this if still avaialbe be of value to me?
Also, per a prior post...'I...
Add the foot shifter accessory to the wind tour dtc, I loved it though sold the bike (maybe bad idea) to get a used 2024 r1250gs low with very low miles on her
Have not read the post on this thread. Only know that bmw continues to jump the shark with 2025 the r18 line. Some nice improvements/changes it seems to me. I just don't see these bikes flying off the showroom floors and service cost are higher then other bmw bikes.
Inital r18s did not come with cruise control nor did the wiring harness have wires for it. Later r18s did come with wiring harness. Would have to give dealer vin # and they could advise if the kit could be added based on build date. If not newer build cannot be added...well unless one...
Has anyone purchase the bmw service plan for their R18 and if so do prices vary?
Long time back, could be mistaken, thought it is illegal for people in FL to purchase such a plan outside of FL. That sounds weird…though thinking it had to do with so many old people in FL the State was worried...
Will post a new question on service plans.
Meantime, can all of these oils be used without voiding the r18 warranty? Honestly, guessing bmw will say if you don’t use ‘our’ oil the warranty is toast :)
And NO, not trying to make this an ‘oil’ thread of one better than the other. A dealer simply...
Local dealer has a service plan for 36 months though too think maybe they offer the bmw plan.
Is a bmw 36 month service plan worth the cost and is there a best place to purchase it?
Like to support a in State dealer though last time I purchased a bike later found out I could have gotten it out...
Title says it all.
Have madstad screen and lowers, mustang dual seat (thinking) with backrest, aftermarket passenger back pad rack, bmw canvas bags, bmw engine guards with those funky toaster racks for leg rest, wunderlick (spelled wrong) led drive shaft light and their longer pegs (like pegs...
Yes it is vs an R18 would offer. The lastest gen wing engine is very nice though feel it kicks off more heat then prior gen wing, somewhat. Different animal for sure. Had a 2019 goldwing tour dct airbag model.
I found the limiting factor of a goldwing dct is the…dct. I felt the need to trail brake (rear brake) while giving it a drop of throttle to complete low speed turns and u-turns. Though one can do manual shift mode it is not the same as a clutch. Granted it shifts well, and likewise upshifts...
So maybe should the added some background info. Saw a video on the old K series bikes. They spoke about ethanol jelling up in bike tanks. Thinking, fuel injected bikes might not have that issue, as they have enough 'pressure' to break up the jelly and push it into the pistons. I did see this...
So, I can get 93 unleaded as well as 89 ethanol free. Was going to buy 2 gallons of each, but the bike wouldn’t hold that much so I got 2 gallons of 93 and 1 gallon of ethanol free today.
Honestly I don’t know if I should just get the highest octane unleaded possible and not worry about...
Crib notes edition -
Honestly, save for what seems to me a bit of long turn in I am liking my R18FE. Granted they cost too much at the start then dropped prices like a rock. The stock seat sucked lol.
Though if you got one at the low price point I feel it is a great cruiser bike. It likes to...
Has anyone added Denali lights to an R18 without blowing the wiring system up? If not, I don’t know that’s worth chancing that happening in order to save some bucks buying used lights.
My dealer only uses Clearwater Lites brand for this purpose
Purchased some nice used stuff from a guy recently for a slightly used 2023 R1250GS which I recently purchased. He also had some Denali spot lights for sale. Here are the items he has.
Uncertain what parts are needed, inferring such can be done, nor what parts beyond the dimmer control and...
