Engine/crash bars

ROASDSTYLER makes surprisingly high quality bars. I have both fronat and back crashbars and their saddle bag mounts for myleatherbbags. Every order took about 10ndays toget to me. I check their site every week hoping they make more R18 accessories. Never disappointed yet. I don't understand how they make the quality they do at theie price points, but, they do.
I think you guys convinced me. They look good too. Equally amazed at the price - but I am guessing that they sell for a lower margin - but still make a profit. That small amount of steel cannot possibly justify the $300-$600 of the other brands. I am guessing the others price high because they can and we pay.

Bad news for DK design crash bars. Had yesterday an accident due to the breakage of the steel piece connecting the crash bar with the frame. The left crash bar side fell off and stucked at the fender and blocked my steering. All of a sudden I could not control my bike anymore in a circle, while trying to turn and crashed. Lucky I drove slowly and didn't damage the bike too much. I hurt my knee, but otherwise I am ok. Cleary a fault of material and design (Bad welding, steel part to mount the bar too small) See pics attached. I had this crash bar for 12 months, so the warranty of 6 months from DK design does not apply. I will now look for either Wunderlich, BMW stock or Roadstyler.com. A pity I liked to look of DK design (much bigger pipes), but they are not safe!
That sucks...!! What force was applied that caused the protection bars to break?

It seems the DKdesign crash bar is an assembly. So a broken fitting could make a part falling and provoquing the crash.
One broken/loosed fitting on a one piece design wouldn't have fallen appart.

Another note for people who are worried about the finish difference on the Craft Ride Crash Bars from Motea, they can be matched a bit better using some paint perfection cream and a buffer. I was able to get my bars to a nice finish that matches a bit better. It seems they just don't have the best paint out the factory. Ill post pictures once installed!

I discovered ROADSTYLER ACCESSORIES after I had put the Wunderlich on my bike. Roadstyler is a small Polish family company and their products are first rate. They FED EX orders and mine have arrived in about 8-10 days. THEIR PRODUCTS ARE FIRST RATE ALONG WITH THEIR PRICES!! Here is a link to their BMW products. https://www.roadstyler.com/en/product-category/bmw-en/bmw-r18-en/

I bought a passenger backrest with luggage rack, along with engine and rear guards for my B. Shipping was nearly $200, but all in, it was still a ton cheaper than other popular places. Didn’t take too long all the way from Poland either. Really pleased with the heft. I expect they’ll all hold up well. Sorry to read you couple of guys who dropped your bike, but love to know the bars do their job!
