Since I bought the R18 new, I have left my Optimate 4 plugged in for 6 months and haven't had any problems. I live in Maine and put the bike up the beginning of November and take the bike out in late May when I return from Myrtle Beach. All my other bikes/ATVs have pigtails and are on Battery...

The C-14 is a really good bike when it leaves the factory and is a GREAT bike with the proper tune. I really liked it but wanted a little more so I bought a Ninja ZX-14R the next year. In that article I noticed to prolong the life of the Michelin Commander 3, he recommends "rotating the tires every 5-6,000 miles". Really??? WTH?!?

That's old news! The stop sale cleared a couple weeks ago and BMW dealers are free to sell new/used gas bikes once again...

I really never worry about resale value on any of my bikes, ATVs or snowmobiles since I'm not planning to sell any and my daughters will be the ones to deal with resale value... (y) :D

I've always been obsessive compulsive in some of the things I really enjoy like vintage hand tools and motorcycles amongst other hobbies. Finally ran out of space for motorcycles though... :rolleyes:

Also be sure to put it on a good battery tender... I do full tank (preferably non-ethanol and add Marine Stabil or Startron) plus battery tenders for all my bikes, ATVs and snowmobiles. I put the bikes/ATVs in unheated garage/shed storage the end of October and don't start them until mid-May...

Sucks that you have to let it go but unplanned life circumstances do change. That will be one hell of a deal for somebody but I'm at the point in my life that I need to stop buying bikes! I really like your tasteful and practical upgrades. You're definitely going to make somebody VERY HAPPY...

A lot of shops won't plug a tire due to their insurance contract. I only had about 300 miles on a new rear Cobra Chrome ($$$) on my Rocket 3 and none of the area shops would touch it so I just plugged it myself and it's been good for the last 5500 miles and 3 state inspections...
