Recently noticed some popping from exhaust on deceleration. Not complaining just wondering if this is a characteristic of the engine. Less than 300 miles from new so will bring up at first service.

Perfectly normal, does that in Rock, switch to Rain and it all goes away.
Black Dog is right, I never noticed it until after the break in service was done and I started riding in Rock mode. Didn’t make the connection until he mentioned it.

If Bren Tune ever enters the R18 arena it will change, ie more performance mapping, more popping on deceleration.

Mine has almost 7000km and is always popping on Rock and Roll when engine warmed.
Combined with now a much louder exhaust sound, it is very pleasant

I love the popping. I get it when decelerating hot or cold. I’m never out of rock mode. The other two are wimpy.

My R18C tends to pop a bit and sounds more throaty on the Rock setting. Just over 7000 miles.
