R18 Classic
Official hello to all who appreciate the R18
Mine arrived Thursday and immediately broke down (fuel connection not properly secured). This probably due to the tank removal for custom paint work. All working nicely now and looking forward to putting on the miles. Moving from HD Fat Bob which I loved the look of but never found the ride position quite to my liking.

Beautiful, well done. Do you plan to do anything with the cylinder head covers?

Thank you Gerard
I really fancied having the bike completely re-sprayed in a metallic grey (see 1st pic) however, I would have lost the unique features of the First Edition ie. The black and the pinstripes. This was an alternative with which I am pretty happy. The quality of work is first class.

All suggestions welcome. Not paying 1200 for Roland Sands though 🙄
CC,
These are Roland Sands but are $450 a set before discount. I think either would look great on your bike. I have the machined version on mine.D7D63C1B-9891-499A-9749-45DE858572AA.webpD7081E0F-9A85-4ED9-9B4B-C74A3AE842A2.webp

My concern about it: our bike is really wide at that point and that accessory make it wider.
Not to any significant degree. Pegs / brake / shift levers are well outboard of that anyway... Having said that, the things are definitely over-priced, but still worth it to me...

They do look nice. I wonder if BMW sell the emblems as found in the presentation box thereby fitting bronze finished emblems all round.

I REALLY like that two tone paint job. Very nice!
Cheers Caveman. Nice of you to say. I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't look quite right but seeing it for real, it is nice. Just wonder if I should have gone for a metallic grey as opposed to the flat grey. Reason for the flat grey (apart from the fact I like the colour) was the fact the painter who is obviously more artistic than me, suggested a flat colour would hark back to bikes from 1930's and the heritage to which this bike harks back. Perhaps that was a bit of bullshit and he only had flat colour paint in the back of his lock up.😂
