(longer) gear shifting lever

Hi,

I got my R18 with floorboards and I dont like them with the heel shifting and all that. I replaced them with the pegs from the R18 B that fit on the floorboard brackets. All that is fine, however I need a longer shifting lever. Do any of you know a lever that fits and has about 3cm (just over 1") more length ? I added some pics to elaborate the problem compared with some other bikes I have.

It allows for adjustment back and forward. I was able to use this to set the length exactly as I like it. I also have the footboards and after adding this for front and back my foot sits exactly in the right position and has made gear shifting much better. Since you are in Belgium should be easy to order.

its the length of the pedal that is the problem, not the width of the part to put your foot on. I need more space to put my foot under it for normal toe-only shifting, so I can eventually get rid of the entire heel pedal, as I did with the floorboards..

The extended shifter also rotates up and down slightly



But have you tried rotating the shifter on the spline?
I did a combination of both to adapt the shifter to my liking.

If you take a look at the instructions for installation it might give you some ideas.

well it doesnt help no, look at the distances on the 3 pics I uploaded in the first post, I need like 3cm extra further away horizontally, the adjustable thing does not make up for it, by far... Mine is already on the most extended position so putting the wunderlich thing on it is not gonna help as it only extends in width compatred to the old one. I contacted a customs builder in my vicinity, Im taking the bike there saturday, he can build a custom pedal from scratch to the legth that I need he claims.. we will see

well I need about 12,5 cm space in stead of 9 for my boot to be able to change gears up and down safely. This 12,5cm is stock on all my bikes that dont have heel shifting (and I believe the standard on most bikes). This heel shifting is hurting my riding

I have the same issue as the OP, for me it's my size 12 feet that make it so I don't have a comfortable foot position that doesn't cover both front and rear shifters. I may try one of these products as I can't seem to find anything else:

Fwiw.... I've played with the gear shift on my BMW r9t..... the shaft on that is a 13mm spline that is somewhat common..... I'm using a honda cr 250 shifter with that bike.... lots of cheap steel ones to play with from china.... think cut/play/weld and go from there....
