2024 Black Roctane
Talking to a dealer today (UK). R18 will no longer be available here (new to order next year 2025) as they are stopping manufacture. Apparently the R20 will be the bike going forward and that is Euro 5+ compliant (whereas the R18 as it exists is not). Did do a search before posting this, couldn’t see it’s been covered. Apologies if it has. FYI.

Well that will not bother me at all , the R20 is not for me , i have read numerous threads about the R18 but i have sorted my Classic to how i want it , can sit on it all day cruising comfortable plenty of grunt when required , as far as i am concerned its an excellent machine , will be with me a long time yet .

Does that mean Prices will go up ?
It means BMW Motorrad failed with this Bike in general, people jut do not trust the brand as before and so the sales are down.…
I do not think the price to go up and kind of rarity.… R 18 in the real motorcycle world do not have a good name.
R20 is another thing that many may not buy just because of the BMW philosophy.
I tried to Google and found nothing about R18 being discontinued in the year of 2025.…
German economy is going down and maybe this is the reason if is true.…..

I always liked the R1200c best of the many bikes I owned. It was a masterpiece work of art.
But it didn’t compete well with the V-twin extreme bikes at the turn of the century.

And wouldn’t you know it, now that I’m back on a boxer cruiser, they discontinued it too. :(

I love mine. On my second one actually and I got a heck of a lot of bike for the money and neither has been back to the dealer once. Wish they'd catch on here in the states better than they have. I bet a whole lot of folks would buy one if they'd just take it for a test ride
I 100% agree with you here - it’s a wonderful bike. However, depending on where you are in the US, there’s the stigma against any kind of cruiser that is not HD. ā€œEh, nice bike, but it’s not a Harley.ā€ Enough riders take this to heart and I really believe dissuades them from looking at anything but the shield and bar brand.

Also, looking like perhaps there’s some merit to the R18 being phased away, but this is super speculative. There are a good bunch of 2025 model year bikes listed on the US BMW site, but only the 2024 models for the R18 line.

Now, this might not mean a thing and the 2025 release could actually come in 2025, but it’s curious nonetheless.
