Zard system fitting issues due to reverse gear recall mod

I bought a Zard full system and have hit an issue.
I have the base model 2024 and it would appear some electrics have been added since Zard made the exhaust although the Zard website shows 20-24. Fitment.
The issue is the link pipe. On the installation vid it shows (although not a brilliant vid) a clear run but mine has a metal plate with a plastic box containing electrics.
I’ve bent the bracket up and may be able to fit but I’m also concerned of the heat from the link pipe on these electrics.
Any ideas on what these electrics are and a possible solution would be appreciated

Maybe where the OEM servo control module was located; which, was probably deleted when the new exhaust was installed.

Perhaps it's a Servo Buddy or module to suppress any errors codes, due to the servo control unit being removed.

Thanks for the reply but I’ve bought the bike standard and I removed the exhaust valve motors, the exhaust comes with. healtech connectors so this is something else

Hmmm... Try tracing the wires back and see what they connect back to.. see if you can provide some additional details..

What about exhaust wrap, control the heat that way. That would be my 1st suggestion. Or maybe a generic heat shield (there’s loads for sale on eBay) but there’s not a lot of room under our bikes and I expect that’s part of the reason they run along the side rails rather than being underslung.

I’m looking at taking the bracket off but not having a correct jack makes it tricky. The bracket (thin gauge) is fixed to the original exhaust mount bracket. I’m unsure if they have changed the spec on this as it’s a 24 as speaking to someone else, they haven’t got electrics in this place.
I can’t send the exhaust back either!!

Maybe it's part of the Reverse Recall campaign, where BMW dealerships installed a bracket, which secures an additional relay and wiring?

thats exactly what it is! thanks Star-lord. i wonder what they have done that requires such a substantial , additional electric module? Although it now leaves me with a difficult issue to solve, i somehow need to remove the bracket to lift this box up, cant see where id locate it but maybe i could add heat wrap/ padding in-between exhaust and module?

It's a metal bracket; perhaps, it will act as a heat sink if you're concerned about the radiated heat from the exhaust?

If i bend it up the exhaust will be touching it and that would transfer high temp through to the resistor. Im going to attempt to move. But this will affect all Zard full system users once they have the recall work. Be interesting to know what BMW will do when they supplied the Zard exhaust?

My dealership service shop charged me extra when they balanced and installed new tires on my bike last year; the reason for the extra cost, was because I had non OEM exhaust silencers installed.

I have the Jekle & Hyde exhaust. Removing the rear wheel, requires removing the silencer in order to slide out the axle; the shop was unfamiliar with the J&H hardware.

Update
So exhaust fitted. Reverse gear recall resistoer relocated. now sounds llike a Messerschmitt Bf 109!
So in case anyone at some point faces this issue. This is what to do. Do not start fitting the Zard, (i fully fitted then had to remove it complexly , and these hours you never get back!
You need to remove the resitor from the retaining plate- twist the resister housing (black plastic) so the the rectangle retaining pin is released.
Once this is released, relese the box by pressing the tab
this now exposes the resistor, i found it tucked away nicely to the left rear near the reverse gear cover.
Remove the metal plate (T30) and you may as well take the old exhaust bracket off, that 1lb saving will make a difference!
Thats it, fot the exhaust and start setting off car alarms. i will probably fit the baffles!
