I installed a Transmoto sidecar to my new R18 Bagger but cannot find a power source to connect lights. It is law in Canada to have these lights working. CanSmart does not exist yet for 2022 models but need them to work. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks

This is a low cost option and you can go up from there. Wire it directly to the battery with a relay running off switched power. All signals will go through their own relay.

If that’s sounds complicated then wait for the hex ezycan. If clearwater has their can opener done, buy some aux lights with their can opener and then you are set.

Use the accessory 15 A fuse, I think it is Fuse No. 5 in the owner's manual; it is switched power. Use the suggest power button coupled with a relay; this won't throw any alarms and such.

How about using the jumper terminal under the right side cover? Be sure to add a fuse.

Search Auxiliary Lights on the forum; I just added the Transcontinental Auxiliary Lights to my Model B, which included the bracket, aux lights, directionals and Winglets. I used the accessory power outlet located up within the fairing in order to not trigger any CANBUS alarms; I removed the outlet and put the Auxiliary Light switch in it's place.

The accessory outlet can support up to 5A; the BMW OEM (HELLA) auxiliary lights are LED and only draw less than 1A at 12V DC, the latching switch that I used can support 5A for power a device. (So no need for the use of a relay)

The need to use a relay, or not depends on how much current your proposed lights draw; I posted some simple diagrams which show the use of a Bosh relay.

Also, keep in mind that the accessory outlet continues to power the circuit for approximately 5 minutes after shutting off the bike.

I'd recommend getting the power from the fuse located behind the right side battery panel; the fuse is located within the same fuse block as the 50A system fuse. You can rely on the 15 A fuse if you connect the power from the fused side; or install a separate fuse if connected from the powered side of the fuse terminal.
