Windshield buffeting

OK, I got so much noise that I needed ear plugs over 60 mph.

I put a Universal Cruiser Lmainar Lip on. Its a small improvement.

I ordered a Puig clip on wind screen visor.

Its an extension with aerodynamics.

Will report when it shows up.

I find weird you have buffeting with the OEM wind shield.
Didnt BMW take care of that?
I don't have any with my cheap windshield even up to 180 km/h...

I rode a d1976 BMW R75/6 with a Vetter Windjammer for 15 years.

Next was an R1100RT for 5 years (electric windshield)

Next R1200R with a Parabellum Fairing. Since 2012

Next Gold wing.

I need a little protection.

The OEM shield is OK until I get over 60 mph, then the noise in my helmet is terrible. I prefer to listen to music in my helmet instead of wind noise.

Some folks do not like a windshield, I do.

The windscreen isn't designed as a full screen. It takes the buffeting off of the chest just fine, but the head is not protected. The noise is no louder than on a naked bike, nor louder than you'd expect from a screen of this size. It's the similar to the R1200GS screen in my opinion. If you're looking for full protection, this isn't the screen for you. You can either add an extension, or replace the screen with something bigger. I'm used to naked bikes though, and this screen is a decent compromise between the comfort of keeping the blast off of the chest and overall good looks.

It works ok, so I ordered one like posted above like R2K.

The smaller one works OK. Not quite what I want. I ride a lot of miles some times and the noise/buffeting needs to go away.

The Wunderlich deflector seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the airflow more laminar and reducing buffet from the front and top of the windscreen . By moving my hand around to feel the airflow it’s apparent that some buffet is coming from the sides of the screen and from below also. For me it works well as I’ve been using Ziljian musicians earplugs for years. 50 years of riding and 40 years in aviation has not been kind to my hearing.
