What did you do to your R18 today?

Came home from the hospital Wednesday Afternoon; and went to bed. Wasted all day yesterday (not wasted!); so today I went out to tweak the fit of the seat. Fairly easy just moving the brackets in or out.

With two attachment points (front/rear) I was a little concerned about stability but it’s a solid fit; no wiggle or wobble - at 500 miles (if not needed sooner) I’ll check tightness of the mounts.

What about the comfort of your Corbin saddle?
I'm thinking to order them the touring model with a passenger backrest, in order to rise my seat position and get a better accommodation for my sweet heart.

Sweet lookin' farkle. Make sure you put a dab of blue thread locker on those mounting bolts. Those heads vibrate like a mofo! I've got a set arriving tomorrow. I'll post a photo later in the week.

I did the Oil cooler grill today.
Starting from a 1mx 50cm Stainless steel sheet initially intended for the bottom of a hive.
Easy cut (19 x 15 cm) , shaping, and mount.
I still can make 14 more out of it.
If anybody is passing by my place, a beer will come along ...

But Wait !!
When taking away the plastic cover 2 screws were already loose!
Check yours!
And add the blue locking goo...

Today I spent a couple hours fine-tuning the ergonomics. I rotated the bars more upright to accommodate the higher seated position of the thicker fastback saddle. I had to rotate the brake and clutch levers towards the horizon, so the mirrors and turn signals needed adjustment and alignment. I found that the speedometer was oriented a bit too southerly, which prompted tinkering a bit with a wedge or shim at the attachment points but this wasn't fruitful. I ended up adding a couple stainless steel nuts (yellow arrow) as spacers to move the speedometer a quarter inch or so towards the headlamp. Although not as direct a solution as a couple degrees of supination would have been to orient the speedometer towards my mug better, the spacers brought it into better view from my seated position and served to snug up the headlamp and speedometer a titch, which is a nice perk visually. Pictures don't really convey much of a change, but she fits me better now.

I understand the need to spend time with your R18, but be careful. It IS air cooled and, even with those big jugs sticking out the sides, it can overheat. If the idle changes, particularly if it gets "chuggy" or erratic, shut that baby down.

The most important thing is that they are instant fit.
Same standard male connection as OEM.
By that I mean also they are as loose on the spring as the EOM pegs.

So you can look for any pegs with this connection.

I have just ordered a set of gas tank knee pads from Pier City Custom and with shipping to TN it was $80.48 (according to the on-line pound-to-dollar converter). Shipping was $27.95.

You may have best luck using some heat from a hair drier.
