Ride report: Took the missus for a coffee burn today. She’s 55kg/110 lbs, 5’1”/155 cm. She found the backrest perfect and didn’t mind the stock seat. It was only half an hour each way, which is typical for us. YMMV. The backrest allowed me to let her feel the torque now and then. She said she would’ve been off otherwise!

Dropped her off at home, went for fuel and a bit more of a ride. Bike felt “light”! Which it ain’t.

My thought (we'll see) is that buffeting in direct clean air exposed helmet may be better than the dirty air from the tall windshield.
And per my teen sons... the taller one looks 'older', this one looks a bit more hot rod.

Went for a short ride and I have literally no buffeting at 75+ mph which makes for a quieter helmet also.
Happy with the decision. Onwards!
 
Two years has passed since I did the DNA filter thing, so got a "cleaning/oiling" kit and did the deed....

A fair bit of oil left for 2028..... but used half the cleaner.

Oil change etc..... all the stuff (filter, oil and thick oil) is the same spec etc as my r9t.... so very "old man proof".

I do have 2 free dealer services (as part of the reverse recall compensation)..... but I loose a day of my life taking it to the city.... anyway about $200aud for all oils and brake fluid etc. For the Aussies..... Supercheap matched the cheapest Aussie advertised rates for the oil (so $43 gearbox became $25.... needed 2 of them)... $90ish for the 15w50....the $200 included a Coopers stout long neck.... well 3 for $22... but only one per service as I am a man of restraint.

And so eventually more chineese farcles arrived today (added extra "e" in case I'm getting a bit cheesy).... still working out my "carbon'n chrome" look. I think I have become a teenage girl "shoping wise".... waiting on some badges and thin carbon sheet to sort out/blend down the "chrome" rocker cover trims.... hopefully 0.2mm carbon sheet will flex.... 2mm doesn't!.... not even with "oops, I fucxxd it heat"... for the record, I didn't think it would. I'm pondering if I can sharpen 0.2mm to a knife edge, so will report back on that as well.

Anyway.... I do believe the forward facing ducts improve the "DNA stg 2 overall performance feel" of the bike..... but I could be dreaming, maybe now the bike knows it has 2 more cc's it just gives a wee bit more, something to contemplate in the pool room I guess.... over a stout or two.

Just in case it was the 2cc, I've ordered some 2,000 cc badges and will report back on that in due course. I could tell people I'm running a test mule for.......

Went for a ride today.... none of the oil fell out so reusing the crushed washers to save a fortune worked. Bikes due for a wash so I did some dirty roads....

At one stage I was in the process of being a child, giving it a fistful up a dirt road.... was halfway into it and a nice size kangaroo went straight across in front of me.... a gentle reminder to grow up a bit.... so from that point in I rode like I was a 22yo... all grown up and responsible.....

When riding the other day I played around measuring the airflow that the "engine plates" are exposed to..... and found that the airflow is about half of the "undistured" airflow about 4" (ie 100mm) further out. This is expected since the forks/frame etc disturb the flow.

So, being an ideas man (currently at my peak), I have a set of the pictured coming to put on the engine guard (so they will be vertical) to move air back towards the motor and supercharge my bikes suck. Off course they might just blow air up my bum, but that is a risk I'm willing to take and just maybe looking forward to.... with a warm summer on it's way then at least the crotch flies will be kept at bay (when doing at least 50mph anyway).

They were fork mounted superbik'ish winglets.... now R18 inlet laminate flow restorers...... hopefully they may also work as Roo whistles....

Having done some elementary calculations, there is a very small probability that at 86.3mph a resonance set up between my "speed tubes" and "inlet laminate flow restorers" may warp space/time and launch me into some 5th dimension/plane of existence, so if I don't report back on this then that is probally why.

It's also possible that nothing that bad will happen and that just a different version of me will post next time (wife's a bit excited about that possibility).

You'll be fine as long as you keep it under 88mph. Once you hit 88mph with 1.21 giga watts time travel becomes possible. Assuming you have the proper flux capacitor.

What speed do I need to just get to this thursdays power ball draw? I've had the reverse fix so coming back should be ok.... just slower I guess... (need only come back 90 minutes).... pm me with exact details.... if all works I'll get you a ticket for next weeks (though I may be pissed for most of the remaining year, so no promises).

Had to go 50 miles to get some stuff and then 50 home.... too good of a country road run to take the car when there is a two wheel way...... as a bicycle/motor bike only boy from 10 to 35yo.... there was always a way most times.... stayed under 80 just in case. Could never get on without a rear sub frame.......
