On my end I did remove the exhaust flapper valves. This made a difference on idle sound and slow speed cruising. At-least you can hear it, I have many close encounters with cage drivers just not hearing me. I take extra measures to not be in someone's blind spot. That's just safe riding, on the other end I can't handle drag pipes either. I like exhaust "music" not noise. The worst I can think of is a Shadow with drag pipes

Exhaust done cheap.... AUD$30 per side.

I agree.

As much as I love the look of shorties on the R18 I can’t get past this misfit that they all seem to have on such a beautiful bike with its flowing lines. Cant someone come up with a descent fitting heat shield?

Many/most of the slip on exhaust options do not properly deal with the unique R18 OEM exhaust routing and if they do solve this crappy transition from above they end up flaring out at the back.

I would love to a thread with these options that show pics of both the side shot and straight on rear shot.

I configured an R18 B with a chrome exhaust, exactly how my bike is currently setup in order to see what the final price is within the Black Friday sale:

~$2K
