Transcontinental top case lid doesn't stay up

Hi all. Odd issue suddenly appeared with my 2022 TC. The top case lid doesn't stay up, just drops. Obviously the gas struts are failing. Would this repair be covered under the warranty or anyone suggest a fix? Looks really tough to replace them.

If the bike is under warranty then don’t hesitate and get BMW to honour it.

Was a rack mounted on top of the top case, or some other feature that added additional weight?

no, all standard. It's a 2022 MY so I'd hope covered by the warranty, but the dealer is being vague. Apparently they have to make a claim with BMW.

I had new ones installed, worked just as bad as the old ones...my lid has never stayed up.

that sucks. Did BMW cover the cost of the new ones?

Yes, I am on my 2nd TC, and the new bike is the same way.
