R18 Anniversary Edition
I just loved the R1200c except for 1 thing. It didn't provide the immediate acceleration I wanted while on the highway. That problem was solved when I got the R18. In "Rock" mode the bike responds well at highway speed although there is momentary engine chatter.

I once had a Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 that would chatter and chatter when asked to accelerate. A retune of $350 solved some of that problem. (I would do the Brentune on the R18 but the price is ridiculous and I'm not sure how effective it is).

Got to hand it to Harley Davidson. Their 117 cubic inch StreetGlide does not chatter at all when twisting the throttle. That bike just pulls and accelerates. It isn't anywhere near as good looking as the R18, but I do like the smooth acceleration.

Speaking of smooth acceleration, years ago I had a GoldWing that was king of smooth and king of power. But I didn't like that Honda designed it to idle at 2,000 rpm for the 1st 5 minutes. Terrible for the bike in cold January.

Am curious which bike others liked for its smooth highway acceleration?

Can you describe that? Is that hesitation, a sound or both?
My bike just pulls instantaneously if not in too high a gear.

Concerning sounds I hear a wide variation depending on which helmet I wear and it is highly amusing how it all changes, how the predominant frequencies chance, when you swallow to make your ears pop. Ditto yawn.

The momentary engine chatter mentioned is a short-lived vibration as acceleration begins (primarily 6th gear at highway speed)
