R18 Transcontinental
i'm getting ready to do a road trip, trying to figure out how to pack all my "stuff" on the Transcontinental. Has anyone found a bag or luggage that sits securely on the rear seat that can be strapped securely in some way? I don't want to drill the top case for a rack mount. Any suggestions are helpful as I only have a few weeks left to prep for the trip.

If you’re rolling solo, something like this Saddlemen bag should sit snug in the passenger spot. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/saddlemen-br4100-tactical-dresser-back-seat-bag?sku_id=1560338

They’ve got a bunch of other options and are a pretty reputable company.

Thanks - yes I'll be solo. I saw that bag but wasn't sure how well it would secure. I've been looking for pics in the TC to no avail...

I run with regular ol' drybags and Rokstraps. Been working for me for years and many, many miles.
For packing the trunk and sidecases, I use small packable gear bags like those available from Eagle Creek and others. Allows me to separate and contain like items and makes it much easier to pack and unpack.

I’d run straps from the front of bag to the front mount points of the side cases and then from the rear of the bag to the rear case rack. Feel that’d get you set up well.

I have done several long distance trips. Pack for all kinds of weather #1. Carry tire repair kit & pump and tools #2. Don't over pack, hotels usually have a place to wash a few clothes #3. Have a great time, it truly is a life time experience #4.
