Stock Seat Upholstery Modification

Hello Fellow Riders,

I priced a new Mustang/BMW seat at my local shop yesterday. I only ride solo and have removed the stock pillion muffin and pegs. I have to buy the complete set from BMW. It was kind of disappointing. I need change but I don't want to pay huge money for stuff that should work outta the box.

My brother suggested an upholsterer. At first I baulked, but I called a local place and it really sounds like this might be the berries.

Has anyone done this to their stock R 18 Classic rider seat? How did you do? Happy? May you post a photo of before and after, or provide us with a decent description? Thank you.

I got the Mustang Weekender & left the pillion seat on my shelf. I have a Wunderlich rack where the pillion would normally go. I picked the Weekender as it was two pieces, so I could avoid adding the pillion. My Weekender pillion is still in the original plastic wrap. There is no harm in not using it.
