Spare Key Replacement?

My spare key came with a tag attached with a number on the back. Is that for spare key replacement purposes? Can a locksmith do it? or is it for some other purpose???

it is for use if the battery in the main key dies. As you have the handbook, section 40 answers your question

The question is about the tag that came with the key, it says "GKS" on the front. Not about the plastic spare key, I have used that and it works. The tag in question has a number on the back, "J4817", that I am guessing is for getting a new spare key? See the picture of the GKS tag next to my spare key. Anybody know? i doubt a locksmith can do it as it has to programmed , i would imagine it is for replacement.
