BMW seems to like large side stand lean angles. This was not a problem on the R1200C as it weighed only 650 Lbs.
But when the bike weighs 850, it takes more hip to right the bike.

Last night I parked my topless R18TC on a 4” by 4” cedar post. It was nearly vertical but still leaning left about 5 degrees.
It’s not possible to change the side stand hinge location and angle, but I’m thinking a foot could be bolted to the bottom of the side stand. Probably no thicker than 1.5”. First I need to get a lift.

Strange it is. I don’t know why it is so dramatic. My RT is nearly vertical in comparison.

It is quite a lean to get used too especially for me the first weeks of ownership and I was constantly double-triple checking it was down as I didn’t want to try and catch her from taking a nap.

Before doing any modifications I would suggest turning the bars so the throttle is closest to the gas tank and then while standing (although sitting works too) if you give a nudge from your left leg, inseam where it contacts the bike you will see she stands up almost too easily.

I installed the Landing Gear... sure I got a lot of laughs, but at the same time a lot of people were jealous, taking pictures, and yelling "cheater" when they saw me cruise in traffic down main street at Sturgis.

I never use the kick stand anymore.

Ingenious and damn practical. But I have just told my wife if this delivery ever shows up on the porch she can sell all my bikes.

The lean angle doesn't seem too bad; I will sometimes nudge it upright by pulling up from under the gas tank with my left hand.

The Landing Gear will never appeal to me... I'm old Skool

The landing gear may not fit on my bike due to the saddle bag protection bars from Wunderlich.

Not trying to be judgemental and to each his own but when I can't hold one of my bikes up unassisted or get it off the side stand, then I'll switch to one of my lighter bikes and when they become too much, then I'm done after riding bikes 55 years...

There is a trike option although I’m not too thrilled with the idea myself.
