Had my first ride today, about an hour in the saddle which was long enough to get a numb backside Will have to look at options, padded shorts or new seat - anyone else solved this?
Otherwise, great fun. You certainly can't forget where you are

As for the seat, I started with a water filled seat pad for a year but that didn’t extend the seat time by much more than 2 hours. I then converted to a Corbin custom seat and no looking back at that purchase, comfortable at 3+ hours which works well on long journeys to get between gas/petrol stations.

Welcome aboard. Do you by any chance have the Pure R18? If you do, have a play with the suspension settings to improve comfort. If that does not work then you may need to purchase some padding. Have fun.

I have a Mustang Day Rider on my TC, bought from Bahnstormers at
Farringdon with the reverse recall compensation. Definitely better than
the stock seat for me.

Had the day rider and it was not enough, ended up getting my original seat upholstered and gel pad and extra padding added.

Welcome along, spend a bit of time setting your bike up for yourself (rear preload) and maybe consider other seats if you feel a need. There are plenty of options available now and often eBay has some used ones for sale. Lots of information on the forum, there’s R18’s all over the world now

I'm still using the stock Model B seat, as well as the stock 719 quilted pattern seat (cosmetic upgrade via Reverse Recall); where, I've ridden my R18 bike north of ten plus (10+ hrs.) hours per day. At the end of the day, sure - my ass let's me know that I was definitely out on a motorcycle; that said, I'm not feeling numb or any real pain as described by others - maybe I'll extend my legs from time to time..

At 57 yrs old, I've come to realize that riding a motorcycle is a physical activity; and like most physical activities, it requires a level of upkeep health-wise... stretching & exercise - jumping jacks, some weights on the bench, squats, work on the heavy bag, sit-ups...

Springtime is upon us... Maybe try some exercise and see if it helps, in order to get ready for the riding season...?

I found this on eBay, only 200 miles use, it's a Mustang Cross Country seat. £390. I wonder if it would solve he problem?

No one can really answer that for you as it’s such a personal thing. That’s a good saving on what it would have cost new. The seller may be on this forum, message him/her and ask why they are selling it with such little mileage done, see how you get on
