Seat change...

How many went from the Low stock R18(FE) seat to the High (2" more foam it seems)? Did anyone go from one of them or the Weekender seat to the bmw solo seat?

I am to get the Weekender seat when I pick up the bike though the cost of it plus the backrest almost equals the cost of the bmw solo seat plus the other item, a bracket, needed to mount the seat. I will see if dealer will allow me to get the 2" taller seat instead of stock low seat (since it was not a bike I ordered that might not be possible) else will cost more or full price.

I went from the low seat to the "Comfort" seat and it is better, but still not great, but I have found over the years my butt is pretty choosy.

I went from the high/comfort seat (standard fit on the r18c) to the cross country.

40 minutes max on the comfort seat until I got bad back pains that lasted a week after the ride.

No problem running for 3+ hours on the cross country.

Hum, see if I should change from weekender to cross county. Dealer will have both on hand. Still, that bmw solo seat looks sweet

I went for the +2cm higher option (710 mm). There is a marginal difference, it’s not night and day but plenty comfy enough for what I want. With hindsight could I have lived with the standard seat. Yes.
