Need opinions. I have damage on one of my fork tube covers. Instead of repair/replace, I sort of like the look of no covers. See pic.

lso, has anyone used these (link below)? If so, do they mount right above the lower fork leg or between the triple trees?

I contacted my BMW dealership about these and they couldn’t tell me if they would fit my 2025 model, even though my understanding was that the front forks had never changed.
I was prepared to buy them ($250Aud for the pair) until they told me that it would cost about $500Aud to fit them…. I’m now having a custom motorcycle shop make, paint and fit some for $350 total. This should be happening next week or the week after.IMG_5248.jpeg
They go between the triple trees.

Thank you for your reply. I like what you are doing. Did you remove the OEM fork covers or did the bike come without them?

tngarren,
I have owned many bikes over the last 45 years. Every one of them had chrome forks except the current 2023 R18 out in the garage. I like everything about it except for the black fork covers. May take the off.

I was glad that mine didn’t have the full fork covers as I was never a fan. I like that half of mine is now exposed, but I really like my new top covers.

I just remembered - on my old First Edition, I was really puzzled by a ringing sound from the forks area and it took me ages to pinpoint it. After some experimenting, I found that it was the fork shrouds 'ringing' under certain road conditions/surfaces etc. I cured it by sticking sound deadening material (like heavy stick-on rubber pads) to the inside of the fork shrouds. Worked a treat! I won't be doing that with my present R18 - they will be going on eBay this time round :ROFLMAO:
