RockBob Sprung Saddle for standard fender

I had the opportunity to sit on a R18 with the Wunderlich RockBob Sprung Saddle at the BMW MOA event in Essex Junction, Vermont yesterday. I have been looking at various solo saddles and really like the look. I am sorry to say this one seemed uncomfortable. The edges seemed unpadded and hard. The springs seemed to have no give. I weigh 180lbs, so I'm not a super heavy weight but I had imagined there would be some give. not sure whether you consider it similar but the BMW Homage seat is OEM quality and bum ergonomic. I find it more comfortable than the stcok seat.

Is it taller than stock seat? The Wunderlich is significantly taller, and I think I like that. The Homage seat is "sprung" bye the rubber attachment? And upholstered satisfactorily and comfortably?

The Homage is a few cms higher and more at the rear.The shape is way more ergonomic. It is not upholstered, just thick rubber. Because there is no bolstering the effective seat high is a few cm more even. You sit ón it as opposed to sagging into.
If you search it there are several informative threads on it. Also on very simply raise it higher still.

What I particularly like is that the rubber supports in a way that an upholstered one cannot. It distributes, spreads the pressure under your bum whereas you will 'sit through' the bolstering.
The second aspect is that it allows you to move. In my case it allows me to 'monkey' and is still comfie then.

I would highly recommend the BMW "Weekender Seat". I regularly travel 180 miles one-way and am not saddle sore at all. None actually.

At that price I would buy the cheapest ‘Bobber seat’ that I could find and get it reupholstered to suit your own individual requirements (colour, stitching and padding). It would still work out to be half the price, surely!?

Wunderlich had an R18 there with most of their bobber accessories on it. front and rear fenders, seat, handlebars, license plate bracket and more. looked great. But I like the spring style solo seat look. I have seen many custom seats that I love the leather upholstery. Now, just to get it fitted to my bike!

I secretly would like to change my bike to a Bobber… just too many $$$$$ to do it.
I think it would look great as a Bobber in its colour scheme.

I have in mind a bobber seat with the stock rear fender but that may not be realistic. there are some great solo seats available for the bobber rear setup.

You know there's a company that makes a springer kit for the Triumph Bobber that's a must-have apparently for comfort. Instead of a visible spring under the back of the seat they put a hidden spring under the front on a custom perch of theirs.
