R18 1st Edition
Had my 1st Edition in for the reverse gear recall, even tried it in the BMW workshop for the 1st time. Not for me but handy to have I suppose. What was interesting, after I left the workshop and scrolling through the menu at the traffic lights a warning spanner appeared, no triangle on dash. I turned around and went back to BMW. Certainly had them scratching their heads as no fault showed on their diagnostic tool, we even tried a factory reset on the dash, anyway I said I would live with it as it did not show when starting the bike. Anyway, got home and checked again...... no warning showing. Could my reverse gear test have triggered something? was wondering if the reverse lever circuit had not disconnected properly? Anyone else experienced something like this? My bike now has 320km o the clock so pretty much new.

Interesting. Mine did the same one day after the repair. I used my GS-911 to read it the reason. It was a service reminder. It appeared to be about 13 months since the last service date. I reset it for 2 years out and all good now.

I had all the service intervals reset last Saturday ( Spanner and triangle were showing), now yearly and 10 000km so that shouldn't have been a problem. I done a dash factory reset not sure if that helped, anyway time will tell, hopefully I only see the spanner again this time next year.

I commented elsewhere on this.... mine had something similar when I got it home after the reverse recall.... I'm a bit vague on it now bit I think the date wasn't set correctly..... after setting it the service icon went away. Of course I may have been abducted by aliens in the way home and returned prematurely.

When I had mine done, they did a software update to tell the CPU that the more robust relay was fitted. They told me this was necessary to avoid any errors on the TFT.
