New to the R18b (‘22). Am doing some modifications including blacking out the chrome trim. I’d like to remove the hinges from the panniers and have them ceracoated. Are there any resources or experience on this site that would help me decode the deconstruction of the panniers?

Removing hinges on 2022 R18b panniers

Sorry for not responding, I saw the post but was hoping someone else would answer due to it was a pain figuring out and I forgot. One of the consequences of getting older 
But I pulled my parts off and painted them since they were plastic, but with the reverse recall I purchased the parts from the Roctane, just have not gotten around to doing the swap yet since working 3 BMW projects at once. But I dug out one of the parts because the mechanic or someone at the shop scratched the part with their boots climbing on the bike when it was in getting the reverse removed. I did not worry about it since I was replacing the part anyway. But as you can see from the pics the parts are held on by screws and plastic clips so you have to remove the screws and them unclip the clips without breaking them..... I need to find one of the bottom pieces to picture where the screws and clips are, but just have not been able to locate them yet, too many parts laying in my garage ready to be installed. When I originally did it I disassembled the complete pannier so some of the screws I took apart were not needed to take the hinges off

I can't be sure but I think the bottom 2 screws hold the bottom part of the hinge on

Somehow I placed the bottom parts somewhere that I would not lose them because I wanted to wait until I got the top parts, and like normal I cannot find them now... 
LOL, happens to me all the time. A few years ago, during the summer time, I was having a BBQ with friends at my place. I went to the freezer to get some beers out and some other stuff. Maybe 30 minutes later I noticed I could not see properly and realised I was not wearing my glasses. Looked out for them and so did my friends and we were all baffled as I did not move from the garden area since my friends arrived.

OK no screws on the bottom hinge cover. They are just clipped on very well so be careful not to break the clips.

Remembered it was a pain but not as much of a pain as it is. The top hinge remove the 2 screws on the inside of the lid and lift carefully from bottom. The bottom hinge is more complicated. You have to remove all 9 screws, 4 on outside and 5 in the case. Then completely remove the hinge, carefully pull the outer case from the inner case to get the hinge off the case completely. Once done you can remove the bar and squeeze the plastic piece together to get the bottom cover off. Was a real PITA!!!
