R18FE Oil Drain Plug Torx or Hex?

I can fit a hex socket or a torx socket and both seem to fit even though the hex socket feels like the right fit and the torx has a little bit of play. Which one do you use?
The guy on YouTube that has a few videos for oil, tranny and final drive fluid change uses a torx socket.

I have not had to change the oil yet (break in done by dealer), so I’ve not checked. It should be fairly clear looking at the plug. My other BMWs use hex, so no reason to expect my R18 would be different.

I tried a T50 first and it wasn’t a good fit so then I spent time crawling under the motorcycle on my back on hot asphalt to get eyes on it. It is a 6-sided drain plug. If I find a bagger at the MOA Rally, I’m going to get under it and take a photo.

Now to find a bagger
