R18B Front Tire, Code Reader, Windshield

Greetings, I recently purchased a new Bridgestone Battlecruise H50 for the front... I was able to squeeze 9k miles from the original. It's an okay tire but in the future I think I'm going with Metzler's (German bike, German tires). I bought the Bridgestone online, dismounted the front wheel myself, and had the tire mounted / balanced at a independent bike shop for $60. The local Beemer dealer quoted $258 for just labor and I had to leave the bike overnight.

I purchased the UniCarScan UCSI-2100 OBD2 Bluetooth scanner and the MotoScan app to clear the Service Reminder. Quick and easy. MotoScan requires an Android phone.

I replaced the original windshield with a 15" version from 7 Jurock (https://www.7jurock.com/). If you are local you can visit them and test different sizes. The 15" makes a difference, but it does not offer complete protection. At 6' I still get wind buffeting above my eyes. Anything taller would have been in my field of view. The quality is very good. They also sent me a new style to test, which I did, and I reported back with my opinion and photos. The left photo is the new design. The right photo is the one I purchased.

The TC service manual specs Unirex N3 NLGI 3 Grease for the front wheel. I used this on my Bagger. You can't get it in the USA. I had a friend send me a cartridge from the UK. It's much more than I'll ever use. If interested I am open to selling some.

I have the same new style windshield and the great thing about them is they will make it to any height you ask for . I had a 18 inch but needed just a shade more . So Tristain cut me one 18.5 inches. Made all the difference in the world .before my eyes were right in line with the top . Now there below the top in plain view of the road a head.

I tried the 18" also, and preferred the protection... but I wear prescription glasses, l would have been looking through three sheets of material. And I suggest to Tristan he try rounding the edges on his standard shield and that's what he did on the one he gave me to test. I prefer the look, but prefer the protection of the original design.

There is no service manual for any of tje R18's peeiod.
