R18 TC Top Case Loose

I have a "New" 2023 R18 TC (bought it last year with 7 miles on it from the dealer). The top case seemed loose so I asked the dealer to tighten when I took it on for the first service. They stated the bushings were in upside down, flipped them and put it back on. It is now even more loose. Any ideas on how to tighten (other than just cranking down the screws) or what I might be missing?

It is rubber mounted and will move a bit if you grab onto it and give a tug. This is normal.

Can we assume that you do not have any rattles and the lid closes properly?

Yes, no rattles and closes properly. I would agree with rubber mounting it would move when grabbed, it moves with more of a finger push if that makes sense.

I have a had my box off a couple times fixing a malfunctioning latch. It's just 4 larger bolts inside of rubber spacers with large washers that secure the whole top box to the support. I would try to tighten the large Torx bolts to see if you can get it to be more snug. I never had an issue with it being loose after reattachment but the forward bolts are a little tricky to get to--had to use "L" style torx tool instead of a socket style was all.

As with all fasteners with rubber grommets, I'd recommend using at least Loctite blue, versus torquing the bolt down until the rubber squishes (excessively). This way, your bolt remains secure, but the rubber grommet retains its ability to dampen vibrations. The locktite blue ensures that the bolt can still be removed in the future.
